“You think your attorney gone get you out of this? We have you on body cam attacking her. Your ass is done.”

“My lawyer a beast, but I think my money gone get me out of it. I’ll pay them couple of fines, and you still gone be here broke as fuck harassing the next nigga that’s making more money than you.” His jaw line jumped as he stood up. I thought he was about to beat my ass, but he walked out the room. He left me in there for another twenty minutes before he walked back in with my lawyer.

“Let’s go.” Smirking at the officer, I put my hands out for him to remove the cuffs.

“We’re going to take your money, but we’re going to take your freedom as well.

“Take the dick out yo ass. Goofy mufucka.” My lawyer pushed me out the door and didn’t say a word until we got outside. This nigga was acting like his life was on the line.

“Do you know how many people have a gift, but still don’t make it?”

“Mannn, it’s a lil ass domestic. You acting like I killed somebody.” Grabbing his phone, he scrolled to a news station and pressed play.

“Devin Mercer self proclaimed bad boy of the NBA was arrested today in a West Suburb. Sources tell us that it was the home of sports news anchor Blaise Monroe. For those of you who don’t know, Blaise has been reporting on Mercer for a while about his lack of skills. Sources close to the anchor has told us that he was very upset with her and have been threatening to shut her up.

He's come up to the studio numerous times threatening her, and on tonight, he seems to have acted on it. A witness told us she was scared for her life, so she immediately called the police who arrived on the scene moments later. Mercer is expected to get out on bond, but the seriousness of the charges might finally put him away for a long time. John, you’re in Miami have you gotten any quotes from the team?”

“We’ve talked to the GM, and they have placed Mercer on a suspension and his future depends on conclusion of the case.”

“Is this shit still a joke to you? Everything you’ve worked for is on the line because of this stupidity. Do you know the favors I had to call in to get you bond?”

“Man, chill out. I was not stalking Blaise. We were fucking around. There is no way she will testify to that shit,” I said the words out of my mouth, but I didn’t believe it no more than he did.

“You better hope so. Oh, and I’m sure I shouldn’t have to say this, but stay the fuck away from Blaise.” Not wanting to dealwith anything or anyone tonight, I had him drop me off back at the hotel. Flan booked the room under his name and paid them to allow me in through the service entrance. “Here’s your key. Stay out of sight please.”

“Cool, but my car and bags are at Blaise’s house.”

“I’ll have someone go get it. Someone from the front desk will bring the bags and keys up here to you. I’ll be in touch.”

“When they do, I’m on the first flight out.” Flan nodded, left out, and I flopped down on the couch. Turning my phone on, I scrolled the internet looking at all of the reporting’s and the weight of it all finally came down.

“It was all good just a week ago,”I said out loud to myself before laughing. I tried to search my mind for signs, and I thought about our date when she came to Miami.

“Why are we at the bay?” Brianna was looking as if she was ready to get out of dodge.

“This is our last night together here. I wanted to do something special.” She looked at me with her face balled up causing me to laugh.

“Rich people always forget that they are black. You know our kind don’t do water.” Grabbing her hand, I pulled her on my yacht and signaled for the captain to take off. I didn’t want to give her a chance to freak out and change her mind.

“I’m a cliché to a certain extent, but I love the water. It’s peaceful out here.”

“You better not let me fall off this boat, and if this bitch sinks, just know I’m gone be just like Rose. Your ass ain’t getting on that wood with me because I told yo ass not to come out here.” Laughing, I wrapped my arms around her waist and just inhaled her scent.

“You so fucking beautiful to me, shorty ma.”

“You make it hard to stay mad at you.” Turning around to face me, she placed a soft kiss on my lips.

“Aight Ms. Ali can you take this wrap off your face now. Ain’t nobody on the water but fish and a lil gator.”

“Stop playing with me. I’ll fry the fuck out that gator if it comes anywhere near this boat.” She talked shit, but she removed her disguise. I loved how she listened and left all the extra shit off when she was with me. We sat down and the waiter poured us a drink. Once we were settled on the water, I got in her business.

“So, what did you do when you got out of school?”

“I interned for Garrett before I became an anchor.”

“You went straight to it huh?”

“Why not? That was the point, right?” She looked at me and I could see the drive in her eyes.
