My mouth is dry as I try to regain my senses from seeing her like this.

How is this my best friend?

“Yeah, you look great. I’m definitely going to have to keep you out of trouble tonight.” A knock on the door sounds followed by voices. “Or maybe keep them out of trouble.”

Striding over to the door, I open it and all the guys and their partners are standing outside.

“Ready for dinner?” Cash asks, his arm hanging at his side, loosely holding Piper’s hand. “We don’t want to be late.”

“Oh my God, Alice!” Piper squeals as Alice comes up nextto me, a purse now hanging from her shoulder. “You look great.”

“Thank you.”

Piper grabs her hand and the ladies walk down the long hall toward the elevators. The guys and I all hang back and follow.

The women are jabbering away as we’re carried from the top floors to the bustling lobby. The sound of slot machines and cheers echo around the cavernous space. People are milling about the entrance to the hotel as Troy points out our ride for the evening.

A limo pulls around and the door is opened for us.

“Okay, this is pretty cool.” I scoot inside and slide down the bench seat. Alice takes a spot next to me. “I don’t know if I’ve ever been in a limo.”

“Good thing you’re paying for it then.” Cash winks at me.

“You’re a dick.” I flip him off and grab the bottle of champagne that is already chilling. “I guess no champagne for you.”

“Can I just say one thing as your GM and then I’m done?” Bexley asks, interrupting our conversation.

“Sure,” Angie says, giving her a warm smile as the limo eases out into traffic.

“Please don’t do anything that could get you arrested tonight.” She holds her hands up. “That’s all. I’m done.”

Nick wraps an arm around her and presses a kiss to her temple.

“That was directed to you,” Cash and I tell each other at the same time.

“Aww. It’s so cute how much you love each other.” Piper laughs from her seat next to Cash.

“That’s the truth,” Alice says.

She and Piper giggle and I can only shake my head at her. Because it’s true. I love these guys, even if they can act immature at times.

Drinks are poured and excited chatter fills the tight space in the car. We pull up to a fancy restaurant farther down the strip before everyone clambers out of the car. Cash and Troy are ribbing one another and Nick is holding Bexley’s hand as they walk in front of us.

“This is going to be a night to remember,” Alice says, eyes wide as she looks up at the entrance to the building.

Yeah, this is going to be a night to remember.

Chapter Five

ALICE

My entire body feels like a truck ran over me. I haven’t felt like this since college. Since the night I met Declan and puked all over him. That was the last time I let my inhibitions go like that. I hate the feeling of being out of control.

I thanked my lucky stars that it was Declan I ran into that night and not some lecherous man. Things could have turned out much differently had I not bumped into him.

I groan. It’s like a walrus took up residence on my head, it aches so bad. Turning my head to the side, I crack one eye open. Light spills in through windows.

It makes the pain in my head worse. I roll over, pulling the pillow with me. Until I run into a solid wall.
