“Dax!”
I don’t care that we’re supposed to be Drake and Cora. All common sense is gone as I let pleasure take over my body. The sparks. The heat. Everything.
Everything feels out of this world as the grunts and squeezes from Dax tell me he’s come too. Breathing hard, I collapse into his arms.
He holds me close, rubbing circles into my back as we come down from our high. I don’t think anything could top this.
“Take me home?” I ask.
“Of course,” he says, helping me to my feet. I’m in a blurry haze as lust carries me away.
“Do you need to let Erica know?”
“Yeah.” I nod, pulling out my phone and letting herknow who’s taking me home. Because she would ask. I know she’ll want more, but not right now.
Right now, I want to live in this post-orgasm bubble from Dax just a little longer.
It’s dark by the time Dax helps me into his truck. He cracks the windows, letting a warm breeze flow through the cab of the truck.
I can’t believe we did that together. I never thought anything like that would happen with Dax of all people. But I don’t regret it for one minute.
The city flies by as Dax takes me to my place, pulling up in a parking spot and turning the engine off.
“You don’t have to come up.” I look over at him. There’s a softness there that makes my heart pitter-patter. “It’s okay.”
“Chloe—”
“Cora can do it.” I wink at him.
“Fine. I’m going to wait until you’re inside. Flash your porch light at me so I know you’re in safely, okay?”
“I can do that.” I rest my arms on the open window. “Hey, Dax?”
“Yeah?”
“Thanks for tonight.”
“Anything for you, Chloe.”
“Bye.”
He doesn’t leave until I turn my light on in my apartment. Only then does he head home.
I’m left wishing he would take me with him and we could spend the rest of the night together.
But that would change everything.
And I won’t let that happen.
