“You took me on a real date, so I figured I could take you out.”

The Train Museum is in one of the small buildings on the street. If you didn’t know about it, it’s likely that you would pass right by it and never realize it’s there. With only a small sign, it’s completely unassuming. It’s not frequently visited. It’s one of the many reasons I knew I could bring Simon here without a lot of gawking eyes.

“A train museum?” There’s awe in his voice as his gaze comes back to mine.

“Do you like it?”

Simon closes the distance between us as his mouth crashes down on mine. His fingers tangle in my hair as he swipes his tongue along my lips, demanding entrance.

The moment his tongue touches mine, the dam on the emotions I’ve kept locked up bursts.

I can’t keep my hands off him as we both get swept up in this kiss. It’s not just me getting lost in the sensations. I can feel everything Simon is pouring into this kiss as well.

It has my toes curling and goosebumps erupting everywhere.

I never want this feeling to end. If I could bottle it up and keep it with me every day, I would.

Except someone’s throat clearing brings us back to reality.

“Do you two have tickets?”

Simon’s pupils are dilated as he stares down at me.

“We do,” I tell whoever is behind the counter.

“Oh, Layla. I should’ve known that was you.”

“Mrs. Lewis.” Of course she’s the one working here today. “Lovely to see you.”

Her thin lips disappear from her face as she looks at me with contempt.

“Here’s a map. Please make sure you don’t touch any of the exhibits.”

The smile on my face is as syrupy sweet as you can get. Completely fake. “That won’t be a problem. Have a nice day.”

“Mm-hmm.” She goes back to the papers sitting on her desk.

“Why is she giving me the evil eye? I’ve never done anything to her.”

“It’s because you’re engaged to me,” I whisper to Simon as we head inside.

Simon peers behind him, turning back to me. “Christ, she’s giving me the look. Would it be bad if I mooned her?”

“Oh my God, don’t you dare!”

“Might be the highlight of her life.”

Linking my hand with his, I tug him past the information booth and into the first room.

“Don’t make me march you right back out of here.”

Simon places his hand over his heart. “I promise I’ll be on my best behavior. Hell, I have half a mind to touch everything in here if I didn’t think she’d call the bobbies on us.”

I snicker. “The bobbies? You’re so British.”

“You love it.” He pulls me into his side, nibbling on my neck.

“Stop!” I try to shove him off. “I’m serious. You’ll get us kicked out.”
