“Oh yeah?” She barks out a laugh. “I don’t know if a lingerie shop owner is going to be a prime target.”

“Mmm, no.” I breathe her in. “But if it means I get to spend every night with you, then that’s the lie I’ll stick to.”

“I can’t wait to get to London.”

Epilogue

SIMON - TEN MONTHS LATER

“You two are still coming, right?” I ask Pierce as I turn up the street.

“Relax, mate. We’re putting the kids to bed, then we’ll be over after most of the people leave. We wouldn’t miss Layla’s big night.”

“Good. And our special guests are on their way?”

“Jesus, you’re more worried than Layla.”

“Fuck off.”

“Maybe get a drink on the way over, yeah? You need to chill before you see Layla.”

“I’m not nervous.”

Except I am. I’ll never tell Pierce or Layla that, but I’m anxious for her big night.

“Then you needed to call and remind me why?”

“I don’t know why I’m friends with you.”

“You love me.”

“Yeah, yeah.”

I hang up the phone, the small studio coming into view ahead of me. Slipping into the side door that leads to Layla’s workspace, I’m met with a wall of noise.

Music is already blasting as caterers move about the space.

“What about the appetizers? Are they all out?” Layla spins on her heel, her long blonde hair flowing down her back. Pink colours her cheeks, likely from running around all day.

She looks fucking gorgeous tonight in one of her new pieces—a bralette with a cage framing around her breasts—with a slim blazer over the top and black pants. That skin showing on her stomach is tantalizing.

It has me shifting my hardening cock in my pants before making my presence known.

“Everything looks great, love.”

Layla turns to face me, a beautiful smile playing on her lips.

“You’re here.”

“Where else would I be?” I wrap my arms around her waist, pulling her close to me. “Tonight’s the night.”

“What if something goes wrong?” Layla picks at the hem of my leather jacket.

Grasping her chin, I pull her blue eyes up to mine. No matter how nervous I am for her, I need to be her calming presence tonight. “You’ve got everything sorted out, yes?”

She nods.

“All the food and drinks?”
