“I don’t know whether to be turned on or worried by that.”
“If you know what’s good for you, you won’t be worried.” She pinches my side as I put on the first movie that I find.
It doesn’t take long before Ruby’s breathing turns heavy. Soft snores come from her as she rests in my arms.
This is not the night I had planned for the two of us. Sure, I hoped that she’d be curled up in my arms, but after a lot more sex. But I can’t complain. Not really. Watching a bad slasher film and being able to help Ruby tonight makes me want to beat on my chest like a caveman.
If this was any other woman, I’d probably cut and run. But not Ruby. For once in my life, I want to commit. And if that means curling up on the couch watching slasher movies, I’m all in.
ChapterFive
RUBY
“Hey, sexy. Got plans tonight?” I left school early, having finished up my lesson plans over the weekend. I had a fab idea for a date to make up for missing dinner last week.
“I like the sound of that.” Trevor’s voice is heated, even over the phone. I don’t think we are quite on the same page. “I finish in about an hour. That work?”
“I’ll meet you at the shop then.”
“How old-fashioned of you. Picking a man up on a date.” His laughter sends tingles throughout my body.
“And maybe if you’re lucky, I’ll even hold your hand on the way home.”
“I might have to get dad’s permission.”
“Well then, get that permission and I’ll see you later then.” I click off the phone, giddy with excitement at our date.
The idea came to me after our wacky school day. Once a month, we have fun days where students dress up however they want. And after a little digging, I found the perfect place for Trevor and I to go on our date.
Changing out of my nicer school clothes, I find something date-appropriate, but still sexy. Laying out a form-fitting bodysuit and high-waisted jeans, I shower and put on light makeup, perfect for our date. Grabbing a leather jacket, I’m out the door to meet Trevor.
Just the thought of seeing him has my heart rate picking up steam. I lost those first date feelings pretty quickly with my ex, Brian. But not with Trevor. With Trevor, I find my thoughts drifting to him more than they should. We’ve only been seeing each other for a few weeks, and I know I shouldn’t compare what we have with what I had with my ex, but it’s hard.
I’m an all-in kind of girl. I feel all of my emotions and have no problems expressing them. Sometimes it scares people off, but I know those who truly love me. And I’m hoping the man standing outside the tattoo parlor now is one of them.
Dressed in a black t-shirt and black jeans, Trevor is sinfully sexy. With his long locks and sleeve of tattoos, I was a ticking time bomb, just waiting to fall for him. His gaze swings my way, and I feel it everywhere. He’s obvious in his perusal as I slow my pace, wanting him to have his fill.
“Someone’s looking hot as fuck tonight.” Trevor’s voice comes out on a growl, as his hands wrap around my waist, tugging me close to him. Both hands dip into the pockets of my jeans, giving a light squeeze.
“Not so bad yourself, handsome.” I capture his lips with mine. Minty fresh. I could stand here all night and not have my fill of kissing him. Of tasting those full lips that know how to drive me wild.
“I’m beginning to feel like a kept man. You planning all these dates for us.” His fingers trail over my lips, lighting a fire in my belly.
“You might want to withhold judgment until you see where we’re going.” My voice is playful as I tug his hands into mine, pulling us in the direction of the tube.
“And where are we going tonight?” He follows like a little puppy. I love the pull I have over this man.
“Would you believe me if I said I got the idea from one of my students?”
A worried look flashes across his features. “From your students? Are we finger painting?”
I slap his solid chest. “We are not finger painting. Although now that you say that, that could be quite a fun project. You. Me. Some paint.”
“Shite. Can we change to painting please? I really want to do that.” Trevor crowds my side, nibbling at my earlobe as we descend to the tube station.
“I’ll put that one in my back pocket for later. Ice skating.”
He gives me a blank look. “Ice skating? Like walking around but on blades?”
