“Do you like that, Blue? That I’m about to make you climax in front of all these people enjoying their seafood dinner?” Her nails dug into my thigh in response and just when I had her hanging on that edge, I stopped.

“What the—” Her eyes snapped open, confused and furious. She was out of breath and panting.

Grinning, I pulled out my fingers glistening with her juices and lifted them to my mouth. With my eyes on her, I sucked them clean. “So sweet.” I winked, my grin widening at the pure hatred on her face. “You’ve spent the last six years torturing the fuck out of me, even if you didn’t know it. You had me losing my fucking mind. Do you have any idea what that feels like, Blue? To want something so badly but know you can’t have it?”

A shadow passed over her aroused expression, dousing its glow and I immediately knew she’d suffered too. Blended pain and regret fueled the fire in my heart. She might’ve run but I gave her the reason to.

Wanting to remind her who I was, I gently tapped her nose. “Say my name and I’ll finish it.”

Behind me, I heard Brax and Caleb’s chatter. Skye’s breath hitched before anxiety marred her perfect face. Her eyes darted over my shoulder and back to mine.

Fuck, I missed that petulance. “Don’t worry, baby,” I cocked my head to one side, “you’ll be screaming it soon.”

Her jaw dropped but I didn’t give her a chance to respond. I slid out of the seat just as both men reached us. She’d never seen the asshole I’d become, and she wouldn’t.IfI got back what belonged to me.

Skye Donovan was mine.

“I’m going to call it a night,” I said to Caleb as he slid into the seat and Brax took a phone call. Ryleigh probably bitching about why he was still out. I set some money on the table, covering the entire check. “Thanks for dinner.”

Caleb shook his head. “Hey, you don’t—”

I raised my hand. “Consider it my treat for the friendly welcome toBlueHaven.” The emphasis on her name, had Skye lifting her gaze from her drink. My smile was for her alone. “The dessert was especially good.” Catching my inference, her cheeks flushed scarlet, and she quickly dropped her gaze back to her glass.

I plan to make more than just your cheeks blush, baby.

Caleb held out a hand that I accepted. “Well, thanks then. But I thought you’d stay. See if a soldier can hold up drinking against me.” He chuckled.

“Tomorrow perhaps, if I sign on the dotted line.” I grinned, my gaze flicking to Skye for a second. She looked ready to hide.

Caleb reached across and linked his fingers with hers. Raw possessive anger lanced through me. Jealousy like I’d never known. I clenched my fists in my pants pockets to keep from doing something stupid. Like pound the fuck out of a nice guy who didn’t know any better.

“If you do take Frank’s place, you’ll be Skye’s neighbor,” he said.

That got my attention. “Really?” I feigned disinterest.

“Yeah,” he replied, missing her frown. I gathered she wasn’t happy about this share. “She’d be about seven houses down the road from you, if you need a cup of sugar perhaps. Right, sweetheart?”

She offered him that fake smile I knew so well. How often had she tried it on me when she wasn’t happy about something.

A cup of sugar wouldn’t cut it, Blue.

What I wanted from her would probably sweeten an entire fucking army. I sucked on my bottom lip, remembering her taste. As if privy to my thoughts she looked at me. My cock gave a little twitch. Fuck, it had been a while since he was this engaged.

My grin morphed into a smirk. “Well, thanks for the heads up.” As I walked out, I signaled for Brax to join me.

He cut the call and fell into step beside me. “That was an interesting dinner, I’m assuming Ryleigh doesn’t know.”

I shrugged. “She’s been your problem for the last three years, Brax and she might’ve had a finger in everything I did once, but now my life is not up for discussion with her. Remember that, would you?”

“Sure.” My annoyance didn’t seem to faze him. “If you don’t mind me asking, why did Skye act like she didn’t know you?”

I was impressed he picked up on that and hadn’t said anything at the table. “Been wondering the same thing myself.” What happened to make her this reserved? Granted, she’d bailed on me, but I assumed once we met again, the reception would be warmer.

Maybe if Grandma had told Skye the truth at my wedding, things would’ve been different. Since that day, I hadn’t spoken to Grandma. She’d tried a couple of times to contact me, but I ignored her like I said I would. Dad never questioned why, and I never explained either, probably because he’d been one up on me always.

Now, I wondered what he’d think of this new development. That barely a day out of Rocky Mountain and I’d already found his Angel.

Outside the hotel, I turned to Brax. “Keys.” I held out my hand.
