“I’m sorry you had to hear that, babe, you want to get out of here?” Ishara’s warm brown eyes consoled.

“No, I need to hear all of this,” I gritted.

“Why am I not being taken down to the precinct to be questioned?” Rex snapped.

“Because I needed to question you,” Zayne replied. “And if you don’t answer, you’re not making it to any fucking precinct, asshole. I’ll make sure of it. Nathaniel met his maker and you’re next.”

Oh, my God, Zayne had killed Nathaniel, he hadn’t confirmed it when I asked.

“What the fuck are you talking about?” I could hear the shock in Rex’s voice.

“Gabriel doesn’t work for an agency, Rex, he’s a killer for hire. So it doesn’t matter to him whether you live or die, whether you’re questioned or not by the FBI, CIA, or the cops. He’ll kill you, regardless, and then claim he had to shoot you because you ran. Now, answer his questions and you’ll still be breathing when he leaves,” the unknown person said.

“Oh, my God, Shara, Zayne’s a hired killer. I saw him kill those men but I thought it was because they were bad, but he kills for money.” My insides resembled the sudden detonation of a bomb and I banded my arms around my stomach, trying to breathe. I almost had sex with a hired killer. Who else did he kill? Did he kill anyone and everyone? Children? Woman? OMG!

“Come on, Let’s get out of here.” Ishara dragged me from the bathroom.

I followed blindly, my senses all overwhelmed by the heaviness in my chest. White spots dancing in my vision. A loud booming, I couldn’t recognize, clanged in my ears.

Outside, I leaned against Ishara’s car. “Oh, my God, I can’t...” Heat bloomed at my nape and I had the sudden urge to kill.

“Ria, listen to me, babe.” Slowly, we sank to the ground together. “I know you’re angry, that’s rage passing through you. I need you to look at me.” She cupped my face and lifted it until our eyes locked. “That’s it, breathe. Slowly. That’s a good girl.” She tucked my hair behind my ears then massaged my arms. “Let it go, there’s not much you can do about it. I wanted to kill Rex this morning too.”

Closing my eyes, I leaned my head against the car door. “That’s how he knew my name, that I was a virgin. He was listening in on our conversations.” Then I balked and color rose from my neck into my cheeks. “Oh, my God, he saw...”

Ishara frowned. “Saw what, babe?” I looked at my cousin, shaking my head, too embarrassed to talk about it. “Ria. You know you can tell me anything, right?”

“He saw me touch myself,” I mumbled and my cousin being my cousin, burst out laughing. I scowled at her but she just continued laughing until tears streamed down her cheeks. “Really, Shara?” I screwed up my nose at her.

“Oh, my God, I needed that.” She laughed again, holding her stomach. “Thank you, Ria, I so needed to laugh after the shit day I had today.”

“You’re welcome,” my words sickly-sweet with sarcasm.

Her expression turned solemn, yet the mirth remained in her eyes. “You think he saw you touch yourself?” I nodded. She sighed. “You know it’s normal, right? I mean lots of girls do it.”

“Yeah, but how many do it while a man, not a boy, a man is watching them.” I blushed so hard my cheeks burned. I slapped them until I felt comfortable enough to look at her. “That night when Nathaniel’s men captured me, Zayne did things to me.”

“Oh,” Ishara’s mouth formed the perfect O. “What things?”

“He touched me with his...” I couldn’t bring myself to say it out loud.

She leaned in her smile wide. “His cock?”

I nodded. “And his mouth. I don’t think we had sex, though because he kept saying he can’t but I felt him, you know, it was like inside me.” I was blushing again, this time I didn’t bother hiding it.

Ishara laughed. “I think he might’ve entered you enough not to take your virginity.” She squeezed my hand.

“So, I’m still a virgin then?”

“You weren’t sore when it happened?” she asked. I shook my head. “Then yes, you’re still untouched.”

“Oh, God, now I have to find someone else,” I moaned, dropping my head into my hand.

“Don’t worry, we’ll find you someone as soon as all this shit settles, okay?”

“Yep.”

We both looked up as all the cars began moving away and then Zayne exited the building. He still hadn’t seen me, and I pulled Ishara in front of me to hide. After he climbed into his car and drove off, we stood and dusted the dirt off our clothes. Ishara paused as they brought Rex out and led him away to one of the SUVs.
