Rayden stepped forward while Frank held the horse steady. “Put your foot on the stirrup, grip the horn.” He gestured to a thing attached to the seat. “And pull yourself up. I’ll give you a lift, okay?”
I looked at the height of the horse and then at my leg and rolled my eyes. How the hell did I get up there without falling on my ass.
As if he sensed my dilemma, Rayden laughed. “Relax, babe. I’ll use my cupped hands as a stirrup to give you a boost, okay.”
Why was I doing this again? Oh, wait, to prove to my ass of a boyfriend I wasn’t a chickenshit. I gave him a whimsical nod and did as he instructed. My first attempt failed, and I gritted my teeth. I put my foot in Rayden’s hands again and pulled up. Just as I felt my body going backward, I squeaked when strong hands on my hips hoisted me up into the seat. Knowing it was Drake, I barely had time to form a response before he mounted the horse as well.
“W-what are you doing,” my words fell out my mouth in a croak.
“Don’t worry. We won’t go too fast.” His hands slipped around my waist to take hold of the reins Frank held up.
“Jesus, Sianna, relax, will you? It’s just a horse.” Rayden grinned up at me.
It stayed on the tip of my tongue to argue it wasn’t the horse I was worried about, but the six-foot-something of mouthwatering sin sitting with his body flush against mine. Forcing a smile for Rayden, I leaned forward to create some distance as Drake clicked his tongue and guided the horse down the path.
“Relax, princess, we’ll take it easy,” Drake breathed in my ear as soon as we were out of earshot.
“Sianna,” I mumbled, unable to stop the shiver that galloped down my spine.
His response was a low chuckle. God, this man had an insane effect on me. Between the animal's height and the burn, Drake’s proximity radiated, I was too scared to move. It didn’t help that he smelled like breakfast in bed—not the eggs and bacon kind.
He eased the horse into a slow trot. “Take the reins.” He leaned forward, forcing his chest to rub up against my back. I took the straps but barely managed to keep from jumping when his hands fell to my thighs. Warmth flamed through the material of my jeans, and I was tempted to push his hands off. “Nice and low.” I gripped the reins tight when his hands covered mine, guiding them downward. “Keep it loose, princess.” I opened my mouth to remind him about my name and immediately shut it. “Now, squeeze your thighs.” He trailed slow fingers over my thighs. I gasped then turned to look at him, my eyes immediately dropping to his lips. “Let the horse feel who’s in charge.” He leaned in, so close, his minty breath blew across my lips. My gaze flicked up to meet his. “The right amount of pressure, and you can keep any beast in line with these.” The repeated sensual path over my thighs gave me no chance to respond to his sexual innuendo. “Keep looking at me like that, and I won’t be responsible for what happens next?”
“What?” I heard myself asking.
He stared at me before my gaze dropped to his lips again. “Kiss me, Sia,” the soft command had such power that even though I shook my head, I couldn’t resist the pull.Just one taste. I licked my lips, leaning in.
The abrupt echo of what sounded like a galloping horse had me pulling back and turning away from Drake in time to see Rayden coming toward us. Drake slowed down his horse to a complete stop.
“How’s the student, dad?” Rayden’s horsed pranced about before settling down, and he faced us.
“Disobedient.” Drake chuckled behind me
I swung my head around. “I followed your instructions,” I replied stiffly.
“All of them?” There was that challenging smirk again.
He knew I knew exactly what he was referring to, but I refused to be baited. “Whatever,” I retorted.
Rayden laughed hard. “Jesus, babe, you’re taking on my father.”
“So? What’s he going to do? Spank me over his knee?” I scoffed. Rayden was laughing and missed Drake’s sharp inhale.
I grinned, but my victory was short-lived. As we trotted back, Rayden picked up speed, and although the stables were within sight, Drake splayed his fingers across my stomach, forcing my back tight against his chest. His breath tickled my ear as he whispered, “don’t tempt me, Sia.” His free hand flexed on my thigh. When his tongue ran along the shell of my ear, I shifted in the seat, unable to ignore the sudden burn blazing through my body. “I could take you right now, and you wouldn’t say no, would you?” A shudder wracked my spine, and his husky chuckle flamed crazy pricks from the nape down.
Shit. The only word I could think of as he brought the horse to a halt. The second I was off the animal, I began a slow walk back, not waiting for Rayden to finish with his father.
