“I don’t see why not,” my father pulled me from my musings.
“I’d have to check with her first.” I set my empty glass down on the table. “If she’s happy, we’ll be home in a day or two.”
Nodding, he stood and came around the table. “It’s good to have you back home, son. I’m looking forward to a full family holiday.”
“Just like old times.” I grinned, glancing at my watch. “I believe my time is up.” I checked the door to see if Ingrid stood there with hands on her hips as usual.
My father pulled me into another hug. “Tell her, Rayden.”
“I will,” I replied, stepping back.
As I exited his office, I wondered about the woman he’d met. My father was guarded by nature. Very few people could read his expressions, and most took his aloofness as a sign to stay away. Yet, no one would even believe he was the same hardcore Drake Princeton when he let go.
Sianna
“SIANNA.”
“Hmm.”
“What are you doing for Christmas?”
I stopped making notes in the paperwork for the restaurant and looked up. “Why?”
Rayden gave me one of his mischief smiles. “Would you like to come home with me?”
I frowned. “Home?”
“Yes. I want you to meet my family. Spend the holidays at our home in the country. Please say yes,” he rushed on.
I’d never spent the holidays outside of my home or without Ruvash. I was reluctant to crash his family holidays. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
He dropped to his knees and stuck his head under my arms into the ‘o’ it formed with the table, pushing me backward. “Why? We’ve been dating for the last four months. I want you to meet them. This is the perfect opportunity.”
Slowly, I shook my head, tangling my fingers in the back of his hair. “I don’t do well with lots of people—”
“It’s just my dad, sister, aunt, and grandparents,” he pushed. “Trent’s agreed to give you a couple of weeks off with pay.”
