She slid her arms around me and laid her head against my chest. “I want Caleb, and whatever that comes with, I’m ready to tackle it.”

I kissed the top of her head, and the rest of Fangs’ anger seemed to slide right off his face. Which I was thankful for, because I honestly didn’t feel like throwing down with the man yet again just because he didn’t understand the situations we had been put in as men.

“So,” Fangs said as he took a few steps toward us, “Viper tells me that things were handled?”

Rose spoke before I did. “They’ve been handled, yes.”

His gaze peeked down at her before he narrowed his eyes. “She knows?”

I nodded. “I figured it was the least I could do, seeing as she was sort of there when Viper shot him.”

“Right,” Fangs said with a nod of his head. “Well, since that’s taken care of, now we have to figure out what in the hell to do about Bullet.”

I cleared my throat. “We run the risk of that money getting back to them if we don’t do something while this transfer is hung up. I initiated it earlier today, and then everything went down and—”

Fangs held up his hand. “We can only work with what we’re given, and as far as I’m concerned, we’re closer to digging ourselves out of this bullshit. But now, I think it’s time to set up a meeting with Bullet himself.”

“Should I be listening to this conversation right now?” Rose asked.

Fangs chuckled. “Smart girl. Always stay ignorant to cover your ass.”

Rose nodded before she reached her lips up and pecked my cheek. “I’m going to go put my things in your room. I’ll be back in, say, thirty minutes?”

I grinned. “That should be plenty of time.”

She slung her bag over her shoulder. “Fangs? Always a pleasure.”

He chuckled as she walked by. “I could say the same.”

And after Rose disappeared down the hallway, Fangs’ face settled into one of stone.

“I know what you’re thinking about the meeting, and I get it. It might not be the best idea. He could turn it into a trap. All sorts of things. But I’ve already reached out to Bullet about it.”

The blood in my veins stilled. “What did you tell him about the transfer?”

“How long did you say you’d be able to buy us?”

I shrugged. “A few days, three or four. More, since we’re about to head into the weekend. Why?”

“Well, the way I figure this is that once they get here—”

Motorcycle engines revved outside.

I blinked. “You told them we’d have a meeting today?”

Fangs peered over my shoulder before he nodded his head. “They’re here. Listen, stay silent, and follow my lead. All right?”

And as the guys charged down the hallway with curious women peeking their heads around the corner, I found Rose standing at the end of the hallway. Staring at me. With fear bouncing around behind her stare as her face grew paler by the second.

I had to make sure this meeting went according to plan.

Even if I had no fucking clue what the plan was in the first place.

ROSE

“Why the fuck are they meeting us here?” Caleb snarled. “Why in the hell aren’t they meeting us in a neutral location?”
