He tilted his head. “Trouble in paradise?”
I swallowed hard. “You need to leave.”
A gun cocked before he pressed the barrel into my gut.
“We’re going for a ride, beautiful. Why don’t you come with me?”

“Rose!”
I barreled back into my bedroom and searched for my keys. She was nowhere to be found. She had left.
Why in the absolute fuck would she have left knowing the danger that sat just outside the front door?
“God damn it, where the fuck are my keys!?” I bellowed.
“Knock, knock?” Viper asked.
I whipped around and barked at him. “Your bike. Can I use it?”
He blinked. “Uh, no. Grab a prospect’s if you need one. Something wrong with yours?”
I brushed past him, barely slipping through the doorway. “Gotta go. Talk later.”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” Viper said as he grabbed my arm. “Now, why are you yelling for Rose and trying to track down a bike?”
I yanked my arm out of his grasp. “Because I think she fucking took mine, that’s why.”
I broke into a dead sprint, rushing down the hallway as I soared toward the keyholder next to the front door. I grabbed the first pair of keys I laid my hands on, then ripped the front door open. The hot California sun smacked me across the face with the humidity ripping the air from my very lungs.
But it didn’t stop me from slinging my leg over Pride’s bike and speeding to Rose’s place.
“Come on, don’t be this stupid,” I growled.
I’d never ridden so fast in all my life. Sure, sometimes I showed off for the guys while in formation, but I was never doing over fifty within the town’s city limits. I stuck to the back roads, though. I kept my eyes on the dark alleyways that routed me around red lights that tried to halt me dead in my fucking tracks.
And as I soared at seventy-five miles an hour, I made it to Rose’s place in record time.
“Son of a bitch,” I hissed.
Right there, in front of her condo complex, was my bike. Tipped over on its side. Damn woman didn’t even have the respect to put the fucking kickstand down. In any other world, at any other time, that would’ve bothered the shit out of me. But Rose and I had bigger things to talk about.
Like how much trouble she was really in, and how she needed to never leave my sight without a prospect in tow.
“Rose!” I bellowed as I rushed up the stairs. “We really need to talk! We didn’t get to assign you… your… Rose?”
The second I got to her doorway, I froze. The damned thing was opened up pretty much all the way, and every single hair on my body stood on end. I drew in a deep, silent breath and listened to any sound that may tell me what in the world lied behind that opened door.
However, an unfamiliar voice piped up behind me and told me everything I needed to know.
“He took her,” the female voice said.
I whipped around and found a woman clinging to her robe with a very lush, towering man standing behind her.
“Do you know where?” I asked.
