I refused to confirm or deny anything, so I simply stood there.

“Cat got your tongue?” he asked as he stepped off his pedestal and talked toward me. “Shame. I figured you’d have all sorts of juicy information for me.”

“What do you want?” I glowered.

He tilted his head as he stopped in front of me. “Are you really going to stand here and act like I don’t know you’re fucking her? Are you really going to stand here and act like you didn’t want to come in here for her to make sure your little plaything was alive? I know more than you think I do, Bender. You and your club always underestimate me.”

I grinned. “That why you’re so pissed? Because we don’t see your dick for the size it is?”

He chuckled. “Aria will tonight.”

I lunged at him and his guys held me back while Bullet laughed in my fucking face. He spat at my feet before he turned around, making his way back to his makeshift throne. The tears that rushed down Aria’s cheeks stoked the angry fire in my fucking gut. I needed to find a way out of the situation. I needed to get Aria back home.

I needed to make sure she was all right.

“How about a deal?” I asked.

Bullet eased himself down into his chair. “I’m listening.”

“You release Aria and let her walk freely back to her car with me at her side so she can drive off, and after she’s out of sight with my men following her, I’ll give you whatever it is that you want.”

Bullet tilted his head. “I want full control of Heist, effective immediately.”

I clenched my jaw, but forced myself to nod my head. “Done.”

The man snapped his fingers instantly. “Release her, and him as well. They both go free. And no one is to follow them, understood?”

Idiot.

The second they released Aria, she took off in a mad dash toward me. I opened my arms for her and held her close, then the two of us booked it the fuck out of dodge. We raced down the steps while I kept an eye over my shoulder, making sure Bullet stuck to his end of the deal. And the second we burst through the front doors of their disgusting, moldy clubhouse, Aria said the stupidest thing she could’ve possibly said.

“I can handle myself, you know,” she said as she wiped the tears off her face.

I rolled my eyes. “Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let’s get you back to your car.”

“What, you don’t believe me? I had that situation totally under control.”’

I grabbed her arm and practically yanked her across the road. “I swear, you have the ego the size of that man in there.”

“Hey! Let me go!”

I tossed her into the parking lot. “Shut the fuck up and listen to me, because right now I’m the only thing standing in the way between your life and your death, got it? You have no idea what you’re getting into, and the next time you want to roll up on one of the most dangerous clubs in all of California? I’m not going to be there to protect you. We stumbled upon your car by accident. And while I should’ve predicted that you’d go off and be a fucking idiot, I didn’t think you were that stupid.”

“Fuck you,” she practically spat.

“You already did that, so why don’t you do yourself a favor and stop trying to get yourself killed. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were doing it intentionally.”

I turned on the balls of my feet and walked away from her, feeling her staring me down. But the second she cranked the engine of her car, I felt her stalking me from behind. I didn’t care, though. If she wanted to die, that was her prerogative.

I walked back toward my bike and slung my leg over it as Aria pulled up to Fangs and rolled her window down.

“You should know that your guy here just sold off your club to save my ass,” she said.

Fangs turned to face me. “What?”

I rolled my eyes. Fucking hell Aria. If she weren’t a woman I would have clocked the shit out of her right now. “She’s right. I just offered them full control of Heist to let the two of us walk.”

“You did what!?” Reaper exclaimed.
