“We don’t know. She just turned up and mentioned Mallory’s name before collapsing. We need to make sure she’s okay so we can find out how she knows Mallory.” Razor is full of emotion, his voice trembles and I know that he’s angry and wants to wake the woman up, but he would never be angry with a woman. Rosie reaches out and touches him.

Doc, walks to the other side of the bed and looks down at her. “She’s in a bad state. Let me help you clean her up and then we might be able to get a better idea of her injuries. We can see what we can treat and what is superficial.”

It takes us about twenty minutes to clean her enough to see the bruises and cuts. She hasn’t woken up in all that time. “Is she still breathing?” I ask Doc as he listens to her chest with the stethoscope.

“Yes, she is. Her heart rate is very low. She’s sleeping. I’m going to run a saline drip to get some fluids in her, she is very dehydrated. Rosie, can you help me?”

“Yes, Doc.” She moves over to his bag and grabs a saline bag out of it and takes it over to him.

I watch them work as I stand and move closer to Razor. “Prez, what the hell do you think happened to her?”

“I don't know but I’m guessing that whatever it was is happening to my sister too. I just want her to wake up so that I can ask her some questions.”

Doc looks up at him. “I don’t want you questioning her as soon as she wakes up, Prez. She needs rest and then we have to ask her about her injuries. When she’s feeling up to it you can ask her questions.”

“This is my club Doc, my rules,” Razor growls out.

“You called me for my expertise, I can as easily walk out of that door as I walked in it. I’m saying no.”

Rosie walks over to Razor and wraps her arms around him. “Baby, it’s okay you’ll get your answers, but we need to look after this woman and protect her. That’s what we do.”

“Keep me updated on her progress,” Razor says before he walks out of the door.

Rosie rolls her eyes heavenward. “Do you need me at the moment, Doc? Or can I come back in a short while?”

“You can go, but I will need you present when I perform the rape test.”

“The what now?” I ask. What the fuck? “Do you think she’s been raped?” The blood is boiling inside me. Who could do this to this beautiful woman? I want to find the bastards and kill them, one by one, piece by piece.

“If you look at her bruises Brax, it looks like she has been repeatedly raped and we need to find out if there is any internal damage.”

Rosie comes and puts her hand on my shoulder. “I’ll be back in to help with that. I need to find Razor and make sure he is okay; I don’t think he’s coping well with the news that someone might know where Mallory is.”

I cover her hand with mine. “I get it. He’s been trying to find her for two years and this is the closest we’ve ever been.”

She squeezes my shoulder and then walks out the door.

“Brax, I need you to take down a list of her injuries. We need to document them so we can treat the ones that need treating.”

It takes Doc over half an hour to call out her injuries and we both know that’s not the extent of them.

“What the fuck happened to her, Doc? Who did this to her and how the hell did she escape?” I can’t stop feeling sorry for this woman. She looks like she fought back and that fills me with pride.

“I don’t VP, but whoever did this to her is not going to be happy that she’s run off. They will come for her when they find out where she is. I have a feeling she is going to bolt as soon as she wakes up.”

“I’m not letting her out of my sight, Doc. I’ll be here when she wakes up.”

“I need Rosie to help me with the next part, do you think you can find her or me?”

“I’d say she’s calming Prez down with some Rosie loving.”

Doc laughs. “I’m sure she is. I still need her here though.”

“I’ll go find her, Doc.”

I stop at the door and turn back to the woman who has stirred something in me that I can’t explain. Taking one more look, I turn and walk out to the clubhouse.

“Anyone seen Prez?” I shout into the lounge area.
