Bennett reached out a hand to both him and Lucas. He never said a word, but did step back, giving Garridan room. Garridan raised an eyebrow at Sage. Garridan misinterpreted Sage’s expression. “I won’t hurt you. Ever.”

“I know. My snake wants to obey you. It threw me off,” Sage said and to prove it to them both he walked the few feet it took to get to Garridan. He lifted onto his toes and kissed him on the lips.

Garridan smiled.

Sage turned and stood next to Lucas.

“Now, what you both are doing wrong is anticipating Bennett’s move.” Garridan began. He motioned for Bennett to come closer. “You’re stiffening up, Sage. And Lucas, you’re reacting too late, like you don’t care if he comes at you.”

“I don’t. I like it when he does that, actually. Preferably with his cock out. Thank you and you’re welcome,” Lucas whispered.

Sage snickered but stopped when Garridan narrowed his eyes.

Garridan nodded once at Bennett and took a step to the side. Bennett swept Sage’s feet out from under him once again. He would have fallen, but Garridan moved quickly to catch him. He was behind him and Sage sank against him. “See, you stiffen.”

“That’s because it feels like an attack and I can’t help it.”

“You can attack me, Benny. I like it when you do,” Lucas said and winked at Bennett. Bennett grinned and then stalked toward Lucas. Lucas giggled and started backing up. Bennett gave a playful growl and Lucas turned, running from Bennett. Bennett gave chase.

Sage chuckled.

“Be serious.” Garridan growled in his ear.

“Then tell Lucas to stop being funny.” Sage reached behind him to the nape of Garridan’s neck. Sage could feel Garridan’s cock in the small of his back and it started to make him hard. Sage pushed against it and felt it start to harden.

Garridan growled. He let him go and came around so that he stood in front of Sage. He stood there for a full five minutes just watching Sage and then he came at him with a fist raised. Sage immediately brought his arm up and deflected it. Garridan stopped and grinned. “That was perfect.”

“My dad taught me basic self-defense before he died. I know a little bit, Garridan. I just freeze up and panic.”

“Not with me.”

“That’s because you’re not dangerous at all.”

Garridan’s eyebrows raised, but he didn’t say anything.

“Can we do something else now?” Sage asked.

“No. You need practice.”

“Well, I was thinking that we could practice bonding instead.” Sage through his lashes.

Garridan nostrils flared and he growled. He grabbed Sage’s hand and pulled him along behind him.

Well, that little trick worked like a charm.

Chapter Ten

Garridan sat in the chair in the corner of their bedroom, watching Sage move around like a little hyperactive bird. Something was going on with him. He was acting weird.

Sage had nothing else on but a T-shirt and underwear. He searched through one of their dresser drawers, probably for pants. In Garridan’s opinion, he didn’t need any. He looked better without them, especially his ass. That particular part of Sage was so fucking perfect it was hard not to constantly stare.

He liked the way Sage moved, even when he was nervous and anxious. He had a way of standing that was both defeated and spoke of his resiliency at the same time. It amazed Garridan how tough Sage was.

“Damn it, I have no clean pants. I really need to go back to my house and pick up some more clothes. Especially if we’re going to stay here for a while.”

“Or we could do laundry,” Garridan said.

Sage turned and narrowed his eyes. “I’ll do laundry after we get back from my house.”
