He scratched his chest and sat up. He was still naked but didn’t feel dried crusty cum, so he figured Bennett had cleaned him. He looked out of the window and noticed it was getting dark. He had stayed way later than he should have.

He scratched his chest again and got out of bed. He saw his clothing folded up on a chair in the corner of the room.

He smiled at Bennett’s thoughtfulness.

Getting dressed wasn’t something he wanted to do but he slipped his underwear on regardless. He cupped his balls, thinking about the way it felt to have Bennett’s cock slide against them. His neck ached a little where the bite mark was and he couldn’t help but reach up with his other hand, feeling it. The wound had already scabbed over. Touching them sent a tingle through his body, making his cock take notice.

He sighed and picked up his shirt, pulling it over his head.

He couldn’t believe he had bonded with Bennett. And he had bit him too. He couldn’t even begin to say where his fangs had come from. Everything had happened so fast and with such instinct, he found it difficult to process, even now after he had gotten some sleep.

He really needed to get home, away from Bennett to think about all bonding meant for his life. He had never really had a steady boyfriend and hadn’t dated all that much. In one day, he was virtually married. God, seriously? He ran a hand through his hair. He had been a fuck-up his entire life and he was dragging someone else down with him.

Yeah, he really needed time to process everything bonding with Bennett could mean for them both.

He scratched his chest again, through his shirt and winced at the stabbing pain. He lifted his shirt away from his skin at the collar and looked down. He had definitely scratched up a red mark. Lucas sighed. The witch thing was detrimental to his health. He was pretty sure he was starting to carry some of Bennett’s dragon traits, if the fact that he could smell every little thing in the house. Like he could tell a mouse was in the house somewhere and that a shifter, other than Bennett, had been in the house in the last few minutes, though wasn’t in the house anymore. The other shifter might have been Forrest. It was a scent he associated with his little one room cabin, but still couldn’t be completely sure.

Lucas put on his jeans and walked out of the room. He could tell Bennett wasn’t in the house either and he started to panic. He projected out before he heard Bennett’s voice in his head.I’m in the garage, baby.

Well, this is really cool. I’ll never have to say a single word to you ever again. This mate-bonding thing really has its perks, huh?

Just wait until bed tonight and I’ll show you how perky the mate bond can get.

Lucas let out a sigh and walked through the house to the back door. He slipped on his shoes and made his way out of the door to the garage. The frogs were chirping all around him, sounding louder than normal. He heard Bennett say something and knew he was talking to the shifter who had been in earlier. He heard Forrest respond, but really didn’t pay attention to the conversation. He was just happy he got the scent right on the first try. Go him!

His whole focus was on Bennett as he walked into the garage. Bennett was in a boat that sat on its trailer, but he swung over the side when he saw Lucas.

Lucas waved absently at Forrest.

“How do you feel?” Bennett asked even as he took Lucas in his arms.

“Mm…Good. Great. Terrified,” Lucas said and smiled up at his mate. “What about you?”

Bennett frowned. “Why are you scared, baby?”

Really? “Umm, because I just jumped into a relationship that I can’t get out of.”

Bennett stiffened. “There are ways around this.”

“Hey, I didn’t say I wanted to get out. I’m just scared. I don’t know you that well. I’m just worried I’m going to do something to screw it up. I seem to screw up everything. And then what if I have an ability that is completely awful. What if I do something to hurt you? I have issues controlling my witch magic stuff.” Lucas scratched his chest and that reminded him of his new problem. He moved back and pulled his shirt up, showing Bennett the rash that had started and the redness from itching so much. “Like this. What the hell! Headaches. Hot sweats. Now a rash. I’m a fucking mess, Bennett. And don’t even get me started on the fact that somehow I have fangs and get all bitey around you whenever your cum gets in my ass.”

Lucas turned to look at Forrest. “Sorry, Forrest.”

Forrest waved him off. “I think you need to spend more time with Mom.”

Lucas nodded. “I already practice my magic witch stuff once a week with her.” He put his shirt down and Bennett rubbed the spot through the fabric.

“Lucas, you’re not going to hurt me. Or screw anything up.”

“How do you know? How do you even know you like me as much as you think you do?”

Bennett smiled at him. “Oh, I like you. A lot.”

Lucas couldn’t help it. Bennett was really sexy when he was all flirty and smiling. Lucas ran his hand up Bennett’s chest and around his neck. He pulled him down and kissed him. It was just a peck on the lips and then a little lick across Bennett’s lips, but it was enough to get his blood pumping. “I need a little time to myself. Need to think about all this.”

Bennett scowled again. “Why?”

Lucas sighed and leaned his forehead on Bennett’s chest. “I just do, Bennett.”
