It was Lierick who answered, holding up his own book. “To create atalso powerful, it would siphon the magic from the outer rims of Ebrus back toward itself, then distribute it to those of the First Line.” He pointed to the page with all of Ivan’s notes. “See here? It’s creating a well to store the magic of Ebrus here, below the Hall in Fortaare, then creating a vacuum so powerful, it pulls the magic into this central well.”
There was a picture of Ebrus, roughly sketched below, as well as a projected range. It reached well past the shores of Ebrus, and I wondered what other lands were being suctioned of their magic by this unholy talisman.
Lierick continued. “Oris Hanovanknew. That was what he was talking about in his diaries.”
Zier, who I hadn’t seen move closer, shook his head. “He can’t have known it would be this catastrophic.”
“Or maybe he did, and that was the real reason for the dispute between the Lines. All carefully wrapped up in some jilted lover fairytale,” Vox said softly, and I shook my head.
How could anyone rob the other Lines of their magic, and murder an entire Line to keep it a secret? The answer was obvious, and as old as time itself.
Power.

Hayle
The urge to drag Avalon all over Hamor so everyone could meet my beautiful Soul Tie was almost undeniable. I was staying restrained, because I knew she found it overwhelming, but I loved her so much. I wanted everyone else to have the chance to love her too.
I slept with her curled around just my body for the first time in so long, and while it was nice, I kind of missed the rest of the guys sleeping with us. My beast seemed to rest easier, knowing they were close by to help protect our mate.
Maybe tonight, I’d suggest a sleepover. I knew Avie preferred us all together too. She was currently asleep on my chest, but her face was folded in a frown. Was she having a bad dream?
I couldn’t have that. The way you woke up set the tone for the rest of the day, and I wanted her to wake up with a smile on her face. I mean, eating out her delicious pussy would also be the perfect way to start my day too, so win-win.
Crawling beneath the blankets, I slunk down until I was nose to clit with her delicious core. Wrapping her thighs around my ears, I flicked my tongue tentatively against her clit. Just a small hello before I stroked it down her slit in one long swipe. She tasted like home. I flicked my tongue back to her clit, and shearched toward me. I didn’t know if she was still asleep, chasing that pleasure in her dreams, but it didn’t matter. I’d pleasure her on every plane of existence until I was buried in the dirt.
I ate her gently at first, my flicking strokes getting firmer and faster, until I couldn’t help myself and sucked that sweet little bud between my lips.
“Hayle!” she gasped, her hands burrowing under the blankets to find my hair and cling to it. She was awake now, so that was basically permission to go no holds barred. My tongue twisted and turned, making her writhe against me, and a totally animalistic satisfaction rolled over me. I slid my fingers up her now-dripping thighs and pushed them inside her, immediately rewarded by her pulsing pussy trying to snap them in half as she came on an absolutely beautiful scream.
Giving her wet slit one more stroke with my tongue, I sighed happily against her. She flicked back the blankets, and I stared up at her from between her thighs. She looked wild and pleasured, and I knew this was exactly how I wanted to wake up every day for the rest of my life.
“Good morning,” I purred, and she looked at me like I was some wild, untamed thing. A wild, untamed thing that she loved.
“Come here,” she said roughly, and when I climbed back up her body and kissed her sweet lips, it truly was a great morning.
I was grinningas I met the rest of our group in the hallway after cleaning up.
Vox raised an eyebrow. “Someone knocked on my door announcing breakfast an hour ago.”
I couldn’t keep the smirk from my face. “Sorry, I was already eating.”
Avie slapped my chest. “Stop it. Come on, before your mother thinks I’m the rudest person to ever step foot into Hamor.”
She stood on her toes and kissed Vox, and he whispered something against her lips that I couldn’t hear. She giggled softly, then leaned over to Lierick and kissed him too.
I walked up to Zier and patted him on the back. “I’m surprised you waited.”
He raised an eyebrow. “You don’t sound very surprised.”
I grinned, because he wasn’t wrong. I knew what I knew, even if Zier was deep in denial. I tapped my nose. “Can’t fool the Third Line senses, Baron.”
He shook his head at me. “Call me Zier.”
I led the group toward the formal dining room, though there was no sign of Iker. Lierick and Vox were bracketing Avie, having a low conversation.
“And why should I do that? Is it because we’re friends?” I asked lightly. “Or is it because you want to fuck my Soul Tie?”
