“The blades,” I state, glancing at Lucifer.
Lucifer’s lips tighten. “Zeus is arrogant enough to not see you as much of a threat, but he knows those blades are in play. He won’t let you close enough.”
I chew my lip. “Then we need a long-range weapon that can kill a god.”
I glance around the table before Emi sighs and drops her chin into her hands. “What?” I ask.
“To kill a god, you need a weapon of the gods. I only know of one other on Earth.”
Jed snorts and holds his hands up. “Bagsy, not it.”
“I’m out, he hates me,” Zac laughs.
Nathan arches a brow. “I’m not his most favorite god either.”
“Who?” I ask.
Emi laughs. “I can’t go, I can’t tip the balance in your favor that much without consequences.”
Archan grunts behind me. “No,” he grits out. “I’m not going.”
I look over my shoulder. “Where?”
“To the least explored part of your world.”
I frown. “Space?”
He huffs out a laugh. “No, we are going to the bottom of the ocean.”
I blink. “For what?”
Jed drags a glass of whiskey towards himself. “For whom you mean.”
“It’s both, actually,” Zac adds.
“Someone just spit it out.”
“You and Archan are venturing to Atlantis, to meet with Poseidon and persuade him to loan you his precious trident.”
Aaden’s eyes go wide with intellectual curiosity. “Atlantis is real?” he whispers.
“Was, it’s ruins now, but the palace still stands with Poseidon on its throne. He’s what you might call a recluse,” Nathan says.
“He’s what you might call bat shit crazy,” Zac adds.
“He’s not crazy, Zac,” Nathan states with a tightening in his eyes. “He’s just lonely.”
“But there’s good news,” Emi says, clapping her hands as her gaze settles on me.
I narrow my eyes. “What?”
“He adores you and sees Archan as a father figure. He’ll think all his Christmases have arrived at once!”
Archan stands with me. “We need to get there fast, before Natia loses her immortality.”
“And before the gods bring the war to our doorstep,” Lucifer states.
The door to the club crashes open, and various creatures spill into the room. Chairs clatter to the floor as everyone shoots up from the table.
