I wanted to savor the kiss, to enjoy every second of it, but Reegan tilted her head and licked against my lips.I growled and opened for her, sliding my tongue along hers as my dick pressed against my zipper.

She sighed into my mouth, a happy sound that sent another jolt through me.Her hand landed on my chest, and for a second, I thought she was going to push me away. Then her fingers curled. She dragged me closer, slamming her mouth against mine. Her tongue plunged into my mouth, demanding I give her everything I was holding back.

Fuck, I loved that.A woman who wasn’t afraid to take what she needed.A woman who didn’t hide and play coy.I was too damn old for games or hesitation.

And Reegan wasn’t up for either.

I gripped her neck and tangled my fingers in her hair.I tugged to force her head in the direction I wanted it, then met her kisses stroke for stroke.

I let my hand slide back to her jaw, trailing my fingertips over her soft skin.

She flinched and pulled back.“Sorry.I’m ticklish.”

“Apologies.I’ll remember that for next time.”

“Assuming there will be a next time,” she said with a cheeky grin.

A slow, cocky smile lifted my lips.“There will definitely be a next time, Reegan.”

She stood, grabbed her mug, and brought it to her lips.“I’ll see you tomorrow, Josh.”

“Yes, you will, Reegan.”I stood and watched her retreat to Ashlyn’s house, wishing I could follow her.

But the waiting would be even better.Because something told me Reegan Smith was a woman worth waiting for.

Even if it made me crazy to do it.

“Evie! We’re going to be late!”I called down the hallway toward her room.Of all the days, today was not the day for her to be late.

“I’m coming!”she yelled as she hurried toward me.

My breath caught in my throat, and tears sprang to my eyes.“You’re beautiful.”

“Dad,” she said, drawing the word out like I was embarrassing her.

“I mean it, kid.You look amazing. That dress is stunning.High school graduate.Wow, time has flown by.”

She smiled, her eyes going misty as she tucked herself to my side and hugged me tight.I kissed the top of her head, wondering how many more moments like it I would get.She had a lot of plans with friends and work, and summer was going to fly by.

“Promise me we can do something at least once a week this summer,” I blurted.

She pulled back and looked up at me.“You’re making it sound like I’m not going to be here.”

I shook my head.“I know how fast the summer is going to go.Getting ready for college, seeing your friends and your mom, working. We’re going to be dropping you off at school before we know it.I just want to make sure we take some time to see each other.Even if it’s just dinner.”

Evie nodded.“Okay.We will make sure we do something every week. But not just dinner. We should do fun things.”

“You’re on, kid.”

She chuckled.

“Okay, now we really need to go, or we’re going to be late.”

“You mean you were kidding before? We weren’t late?”

“No, we were,” I said as I shuffled her out the door.“But now we’re going to be even later.”
