Clenching her hands, she sighed heavily.“Paulo killed him.”Tears filled her eyes.“He was all I had in this world.”

The room went quiet.

Swiping at her tears, she changed the subject, “But that has nothing to do with what Paulo and his sons are doing here.Paulo and Manuel really hate you, Senor Vincinti. They really want to see you dead.”

“Well, that ain’t gonna happen.”Storm growled. He grabbed his phone and moved away to make a call.

Leon watched him go out to the hall.Turning to Lucinda, he thanked her, “Grazie...or gracias for coming here to warn me.”

“I can see your men have it handled,” she said.“I just couldn’t let him get away with more murders.”

“My dear,” Leon replied.“I think you should stay here for now.”

Raising her head she shrugged.“I will be fine.”

“I insist that you stay.Have a good meal, and a good night’s sleep. It is the least I can do for you.””

Storm returned, then he looked at Leon and gave him a nod.

“What did you just do?”Leon asked.

“By morning, the entire city will be here to watch over this place.”Storm grinned.“You have more friends than you know out there, Mr.Vincinti.And that’s all I’m gonna say about that.”

Leon walked over to the front door and gazed out the window. The sun was just coming up as the pinks and gold of the new day seemed almost like a warning for some reason. Then he felt something, almost as if the city was bracing for something. He could feel the tension rising and he shook his head.

John stepped out of the security room, “Leon, something is happening at the back gate.”

Leon glanced at Bane, before he turned to look at Storm.“Please watch over our guest until we have more information on this problem.”

Storm nodded then looked at Frost.

His man followed Leon, Bane and John back into the security room.

Chapter Seven

Leon moved to John’sdesk and stared at the screen to see the back gate. The gate hardly anyone knew about.
