Seduced by the Siren

Chapter One

Jonah rubbed his palms on his jeans before he got up the courage to knock on Ez’s door. His stomach churned. Part of him was impossibly excited to see the others again, to finally discover all that Torin had to offer…

The other part of him was almost bereft. Despite his and Ez’s brief conversation last week about a potential further contract, he had no guarantees that Ez would want to keep him on.

He’d not come up to Rafe’s room with the others.

Jonah chewed the inside of his cheek, shoulders jumping when Ez called out for him to enter.Thatwas the thought that had been swirling around his head all week, when he’d not been distracted by the memories of the fun he’d had with Rafe – and the others.

He pushed the door open slowly and stepped inside, closing it behind him. Ez was already waiting for him, watching attentively as Jonah crossed the room and stood before his desk.

“How are you?” Ez asked finally. “You are still happy to go ahead today, yes?”

“Yes,” Jonah said immediately. He didn’t want Ez to think he was hesitating overthat. But he didn’t know how to ask the question he really wanted an answer to, either. “I’m fine, I just…”

“Your original contract is ending soon.” Ez’s smile was faint.

“Yeah.”

Jonah dropped his eyes to the desk. It was neater than it had been any other time he’d visited, and he fancied he could almost see his reflection in the dark, polished wood.

Ez got to his feet and rounded the desk, not stopping until Jonah turned to look at him. He took hold of Jonah’s chin, keeping him in place, and Jonah gasped.

“If you want today to be it, then it can be,” Ez said quietly.

“I don’t, I want—” Jonah chewed his cheek again, squeezing his eyes shut before he forced the words out. “Why didn’t you come with the others?”

When he opened his eyes again, Ez was staring at him. “I’m sorry?”

“Last week. The others came up to the room Rafe and I were in, but you… You didn’t. Why not?”

Ez’s thumb brushed Jonah’s chin. Pressure suddenly built between them, and Jonah was sure Ez’s eyes darkened, going almost black.

“It is important I am not influencing the experiments in any way.”

Jonah frowned. “But you were watching in the other room.”

Ez hummed his agreement. “And my reaction to what I saw told me that if I were to follow them all up to that room, I would struggle to maintain control. It would not have been right for your job – and it would not have been fair to you or Rafe.”

Jonah didn’t understand. He pulled his head back, and Ez let his hand drop. “I don’t… What are you?”

The smile Ez gave him was as faint as it had been before, but there was a spark in his eyes. Sudden heat licked down Jonah’s spine. He wanted to fall to his knees on the plush carpet, wanted to bend over Ez’s desk and…

The intensity of the feeling faded but didn’t entirely disperse. Jonah found himself breathing hard.

“That’s for another time,” Ez said. He walked around his desk again. “Of course, I am loathed to lose your services. I would appreciate it if you would return next week to speak with me about how we can continue to have you working with us.”

“Okay,” Jonah said faintly. His cock strained in his underwear. What thefuck?Ez hadn’t even touched him.

He glanced over at Ez, only to see his nostrils flare as he looked Jonah over.

“I—”

“Torin is on the fourth floor,” Ez said, cutting him off. “Since his was the only toy left, we thought it more prudent to get him set up right away.”

“Set up?” Jonah’s mind swam with possibilities.
