‘Yeah,’ Anya agrees.‘What have you guys been up to?’
Silence falls, as both Nora and I are unable to form a sentence.
‘What’s that sound?’Mason asks, looking around the room, and Nora’s face floods with heat as we both realise he’s referring to the vibrations.
‘Oh my God,’ Anya giggles, understanding dawning on her face, her eyes shifting to the lounge where the towel and one of the vibrators are, since the other one is … currently somewhere it should not be.‘Wow guys, way to do it out in the open for everyone to see.’
‘Kill me now,’ Nora mutters.
‘Huh?’Mason asks, looking lost, until his eyes fall on us, noticing our flushed cheeks and messy hair.‘Oh …’ he trails off.‘Er—we shall leave you to it.’
Anya looks amused as the two disappear up the stairs. The fact that we are literally in the lounge room only just occurred to me.I didn’t even think when we started.
‘Zayden, so help me God, if you don’t get this out of me, I’m going to throttle you,’ Nora says through gritted teeth.
‘Got it,’ I say, glancing up at the stairs and hoping that neither of them decides to come down.I push my fingers inside her and she gasps, tensing, her knuckles bleaching white as she grips the lounge.
‘Deep breaths, Vixen,’ I murmur.‘Trust me.I won’t hurt you.’
She nods, blowing out a breath, and I slowly feel her relax.Pushing my fingers further inside, I find the end of the vibrator. It’s twisted and turned on an angle, but I manage to secure my fingers on the edge of it.
‘Okay, now push a bit.’
‘Push?’she squeaks.
‘Yes,’ I say gently.‘Just a little bit.I need your help to get it out.’
‘Fuck my life,’ she groans, but does as I suggest.
My grip tightens, and I manage to get a good enough hold on the toy to pull it out.She hisses at the sensation and sags with relief once it’s out, collapsing onto the lounge.I turn it off, and when she meets my eyes, we both burst out laughing.

NORA
ZAYDEN AND I NOWhave a morning routine.
Laying in bed talking, our limbs lazily twisted around each other, showering, then cooking and eating breakfast together. It’s like we have somehow upgraded from sort of friends to a married couple, and I’m not quite sure when it happened.
Whenever there’s a lull in conversation, we meet eyes and laugh about what happened last night.I’ve heard so many stories about that kind of thing happening to people, but I never would have thought I could have gotten myself into that situation.
One thing I did learn from the experience: Zayden is great in a crisis.Me?Not so much.
Anya and Mason are gone by the time we emerge from Zayden’s room. They run at six a.m.and then go out for breakfast on Saturday mornings.I have quickly discovered that Zayden and I are very different people from them.Usually, I do get up early and begin ticking things off my to-do list, but I’ve been enjoying a slower start to the day.I used to feel like I was always in a rush, even when I didn’t have things planned for the day.
‘How are the new experiences going for you?’Zayden asks, a smirk on his lips.
‘Well, I certainly experienced more than I expected to last night.’
‘You should putthatin a book.’
I snicker.‘I think readers might think I’m nuts if I did that.’
‘I bet it’s happened to someone before and they will go, wow, relatable!’
A snort of laughter escapes me.‘I’m not sure about that.’
‘I think you’d be surprised at what weird shit people do.’
