Sidian shuddered as he felt Dax’s fingers slip beneath his hair, drawing it away from the nape of his neck to bare the skin there. There was no mating mark; Sidian knew that was likely what he was looking for. Did they know about Roman? Did Dax knowthere was another alpha in the picture, that he was therightalpha, the only alpha Sidian had ever cared for? Did he know how fucked he was going to be when Roman found out what they were doing to Sidian?

Because he would kill them. He was one of the few people who could do that.

“I was worried Kane might have marked you,” Dax mused, and Sidian’s heart beat faster. HeknewRoman’s name? “Putting his teeth into what belongs to me would be a death sentence.”

Like fuck Sidian would ever belong to him. “Get your hands off me,” he growled, but the lack of any commanding weight to his voice made his words all but meaningless.

Dax chuckled in his ear and let his chest press against Sidian’s back, a hand sliding beneath Sidian, finding the edge of his shirt and slipping beneath it. The sensation of another alpha’s fingers on his bare skin had Sidian growling, his hindbrain demanding no other alphaevertouch him if they weren’t his mate—Until the moment Dax’s fingers pressed into the barely there taut stretch of his stomach. The only proof he would have had that Sidian was pregnant.

He knew. Of course he knew. The center probably told him as soon as the test came back positive, and how stupid could Sidian be? Ofcourse,Dax knew. He’d come looking for Sidian because he knew his unborn child was out there, and he wanted it back. Just like with Amey, Dax wanted the children he’d forced into Sidian’s body. Another baby to tear from his arms.

“You aresofertile.” The praise landed horribly; Sidian squeezed his eyes shut, his hands trembling as he gripped the edge of the mattress. “Even under all that stress, you breed so well.”

Ford whistled from where he stood next to the door. “Now that’s a good little bitch.”

“He always has been. Haven’t you, Obsidian?” Dax peeled him off of the mattress, forcing Sidian to kneel on the bed with him, the pressure of a half-hard erection against his ass making Sidian wretch. “It’s all right. Boys, get their bags. It’s time we took our naughty little omega home.”

Sidian tried to flail free, but Dax’s arms snapped shut around him, pinning his own arms to his sides. He tried to slam his head back but missed Dax’s face and only froze when he felt the telltale scrape of teeth on the side of his neck. The others jeered while Dax knelt, the threat of a mating bond teetering on the edge of reality while Sidian whimpered out a pathetic noise in apology.Don’t bite me, don’t bite me, please don’t fucking bite me.

“If you keep being bad,” Dax whispered, “then I’ll pack you up. It’s fine either way, but I think you don’t want that. Are you going to stop fighting?”

Before Sidian could reply, Jett poked his head into the room, his expression bored as he stifled a yawn against the palm of his hand. “The others have the alpha,” he said, and Sidian’s heart shattered at the words. “Got him in the Jeep. You said you wanted to ride with him, alpha?”

“Only one of us can keep him under control, so yes, I will be.” Dax settled his hand low on Sidian’s stomach. “Are you going to go now, little omega?”

Sidian didn’t want to. He wanted to kick and bite and thrash, but the promise of a bond kept him still. “Yes,” he whispered, and Dax crooned in approval in his ear.

“Such a good little bitch when you need to be.” He backed off, and Sidian allowed himself to take a breath. “Take him to the car and get him situated. I want one of you on either side of him.”

He felt like a doll when Ford gripped him by the shoulder and hauled him off the bed, propelling him through the room and out into the cool night. Though he had never seen the vehiclesthat Pack Kincaid drove when they went anywhere as a group, the sleek black van and the massive Jeep stuck out as far too nice and expensive to be parked outside of this motel. Sidian whimpered but didn’t put up a fight as the back door of the van slid open and he was forced inside.

He cast his eyes toward the Jeep. Was that where they had Roman?

And if they’d caught Roman, what hope was there that anything could be done?

Jett pulled himself into the van behind Sidian and dropped into the seat next to him, one broad hand settling on Sidian’s thigh and squeezing. “You wouldn’t be thinking about doing something stupid, would you be, pet?”

That nickname sickened him, but Sidian forced himself to stare straight ahead, his hands sweating as he stuffed them under his thighs. “No, alpha. I’m just exhausted.”

“Did you enjoy our little distraction?” Jett’s fingers dug into his leg, and Sidian forced himself to listen. He didn’t know what they had done to Roman; if he was going to get out of this, he was going to rely on himself. “The house belonged to Dax’s great-grandfather. We set it as our addresses because he got a little paranoid, but it looks like he was right to be. How’dyouknow where to look?”

Sidian would relay that to the Mambas, but shouldn’t they have known? Had they ever seen the house? “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“That’s all right. You don’t have to answer to me because I’m not the one in charge.” Jett gripped Sidian by the jaw, teeth catching at his earlobe while Sidian tried not to react. “But Dax will get it out of you. You always didscreamfor him, after all.”

Axel joined them in the back a moment later, slinging an arm around Sidian’s shoulders, one hand dropping close to his tits, though at least Axel didn’t grope him. Still, being pinnedbetween two of the alphas who’d spent hours torturing him while he sobbed and bled and begged for it all to stop succeeded only in making Sidian feel sick, his stomach churning as he forced himself to stare at the windshield. He had to get over it. He had to get his shit together.

They had his alpha, and they had him. They also had his daughter and an omega he knew nothing about but presumed he was about to meet. What happened next was important; he had to pay attention. He had to keep his head screwed on straight. Panicking wouldn’t save any of them.

Talon and Ford climbed into the driver’s seat and passenger seat, which meant the other four were in the same vehicle with Roman. That was important; they saw him as a threat, and they were right to. What they’d done to stop him from being one wasn’t something Sidian wanted to think about.

Axel sighed and jostled him. “Welcome back, omega. Hope the alpha lets us break you back in the way you deserve. Your pussy’s too good to go to waste.”

Jett laughed, letting his head fall back against the seat. “He smells even better than I remember.”

Sidian would kill them both, save his daughter and save his mate. He had to.

If he had no one else to rely on but himself, then what else was there to do?
