The beta bit down on his lower lip so hard that blood beaded up around his teeth, but he said nothing.

That was fine. With the secondcrackof another finger breaking and the rich scent of copper once again filling the room, Sidian imagined it was one of the Kincaid alphas tied to the chair while he worked them over. Tied up, helpless and begging, reeking of blood and piss and sweat, but he would have no mercy for them. For all the pain they’d inflicted on him over the years, for all the suffering they put him through, he would reward them with nothing more than disdain. He would treat them like shit under his shoes because that’s what they were and always would be.

He would cut them into pieces until he felt whole again.

The beta fell silent after losing his thumb until Roman backhanded him across the face hard enough to slap his head to the side. “Wake up. We aren’t done with you yet.”

“Not gonna be able to jerk off anymore, are you?” Sidian asked, snickering when the beta sobbed up at him. “That's too bad. Might as well just cut your dick off at that point so you won’t have anything to miss. But I thinkthatwould kill you, and we don’t have what we want yet.”

He wanted to cut up the other hand, but he also didn’t want to waste his opportunity to be as creative as possible. So he backed off a little, looking the man over, wondering what would hurt the most. There were so many nerves in the human body, and though he knew where most of them were located, he didn’t want to cut the guy’s dick off just yet. He would, he would, but that was enough blood loss to be fatal or near enough to it, and they did promise they’d get the information for the Mambas.

And once the Mambas had what they wanted, Sidian would get what he wanted. He and Roman would track down their own targets, and he’d get to find out how easy it was to make an alpha squeal with pain.

Roman would love that. They could fuck each other covered in Dax Kincaid’s blood.

“Let’s see, let’s see…” He set the scalpel down and reached for one of the man’s ankles, looking up at Roman and pouting his lips. “Hold his leg for me, will you? I want to cut his foot open.”

“Please stop,” the beta gasped out, half-gagging as he struggled to breathe. “I can’t… I c-can’t tell you who paid me. I have a wife and k-kids. He’ll kill them if I tell you his name.”

Roman crouched down and snapped the zip tie around the beta’s right ankle with such ease that Sidian considered pushing him over and riding his face just for the fun of it all. What right did Roman have to be so powerful and so sexy without even trying? That all of that strength was confined to Sidian’s command made him hotter. As near perfect as an alpha could be.

“I’m gonna fuck your face after this,” he said, and Roman’s lips twitched.

“Looking forward to it.” He seized the beta’s knee and ankle, straightening his leg just like he had his arm, his own muscles flexing as he kept the man from struggling free of his hold.

One of the sickest things Sidian had ever heard of growing up was that some alphas mutilated their omegas’ feet to keep them from running away. Plenty of omegas all over the country didn’t have anyone to rely on or lean on; no one would come looking for them or rescue them once they were bitten in an alpha pack. It was the height of privilege to most people to have a pack, something that put male omegas in danger even more than female omegas. The world didn’t want them; shouldn’t they be grateful that anyone at all did?

“You should be lucky a worthless whore like you was deemed worthy of my seed.”

“You’re running away from your problems,” Sidian quipped, pushing Dax’s voice out of his head as he jammed the tip of the scalpel into the side of the beta’s heel just to hear him squeal like a pig. “So let’s put a stop to that and see if you feel differently when you can’t even walk away from them.”

He dragged the blade along the side of the beta’s foot, watching in glee as the flesh parted, blood slicking the floor. The glistening pink interior of the flesh with splashes of color as blood vessels were revealed was fascinating to him; he would never cut Roman this deep no matter how the temptation grew. The likelihood of doing irreparable damage was not as sexy as scarring him, anyway.

The beta threw back his head and screamed, his body jerking and jittering in the chair, though Roman’s hold never wavered. Never weakened.

“Think of it like this,” Sidian said when he reached the beta’s pinky toe, pulling the blade free and scooting over so he could cut open the other side of the beta’s foot. “I’m doing you a favor. Do you think your wife and kids are gonna be safe if you don’t come home? If your criminal sugary daddy is as scary as you make him out to be, then he’ll figure out what it means that you’re missing.”

He slipped his little finger into the raw wound just to feel the wet warmth of it, remembering how it felt to touch his own pussy, and shuddered. His scent bloomed thick and hot in the room, and Roman’s head swiveled in his direction, his eyes dark with hunger. Fuck’s sake, this was not supposed to be about them getting it on, though Sidian had every intention of takingthat knot as soon as they were done with the target. They had business to attend to, and he wanted Pack Kincaid’s address.

That was the most important part. There was far too much riding on it.

He rocked back on his heels, staring up at the beta’s ashen, swollen face, his eyes bulging out of their sockets and his lower lip bloody as if he’d bitten it repeatedly. “You tell us who paid you, or maybe I’ll ask our host what your name is and hunt your family down myself.”

The beta shook his head, his sweaty hair smacking against his glistening temples. “Please,” he rasped out. “Please, they’re innocent. They have nothing to do with this.”

“Do the omegas that your buddy traffics like cattle have something to do with it, then?” Sidian placed the blade of the scalpel at the back of the beta’s heel, aligning it with the torn edges of flesh he’d already scoured. “Are they no longer innocent once your buddies have had their fill of them?”

Tears streaked down the beta’s cheeks. “I’m not involved. I just—”

“Just what?” Sidian asked, pausing his movements. “Tell me what it is you do, and maybe we can work something out here. I mean, let’s be honest. The lives of a bunch of omegas are worth more to me than your family’s lives, so I won’t hesitate to make good on that promise.”

He watched the beta’s bruised and flushed features contort into various ugly expressions as he no doubt tried to figure out what the best outcome for him could be. There was no good outcome; Sidian doubted the Mambas cared much about the family of someone assisting a trafficker, and if the trafficker in question was dangerous like the beta thought, then it was likely his family was already dead. The moment they realized he had vanished, they might have taken preventative measures.

Hard to know what people like that were capable of.

When the beta did not answer him, Sidian got to work slicing through as much of the flesh in the middle of the man’s foot as he could get the blade through.

The hellish screams that filled the air were like music to him, soothing an ache in his blood that always seemed to go unfulfilled. Truth be told, he didn’t know when it would be enough or when he would be satisfied; it might have been when Pack Kincaid was dead and he had Amey in his arms again. Until he saw her, until he confirmed for himself that she was alive and well, he’d be hungry for blood.
