“Did she see?” I manage to choke out, and someone clears their throat, and I look to see Trigger standing by the door.

“She saw,” he admits softly, and my breathing intensifies as I begin to shake.

I need, fuck, I need to get to her, to explain it wasn’t what she thinks.

Trying to control the urge to vomit, I move to get up, but Dad is instantly there and says, “Son, stay in bed,” but I shake my head and try to fight him despite my head pounding.

“No, I can’t she—”

My words cut off as I gag and retch, and he just grabs the trash can before more bile comes up, and I groan between retching, my stomach fucking killing.

“Jesus, Alex!” Ace snaps, “She laced you with a high dose of fucking coke, stay still!”

“Too loud,” I manage to choke out as I gag again, my head throbbing.

Fuck, I feel like I’ve been run over by a truck.

“Ace, fucking calm it or go outside to the tree and shoot some rounds!” Tank snaps before he comes into my line of vision, assessing me as soon as the gagging stops and I breathe heavily.

“One to ten, brother, ten being the worst, how is your head right now?” he asks.

“Fucking hundred,” I croak, and he nods.

“You overdosed,” he admits, and I blink.

Fuck me.

“Was the bitch trying to kill me?” I choke out, and he shakes his head.

“Nah, she was hoping you’d knock her up so you’d finally claim her out of obligation,” he admits, and I snort but wince as it vibrates through my head.

Fuck that hurt.

“The woman had a screw lose,” my dad mutters, and no one denies him because clearly she fucking does. Wait, did he say had?

“Alright, brother, I’m going to help you sit back up,” Tank says, interrupting my thoughts, and he gently guides me up. I squeeze my eyes tight at the dizziness that takes hold once again.

“Breathe through it, brother,” he explains, and I do as I’m told.

“Holly knows you didn’t cheat on her,” Trigger explains, and I look his way, the guilt he always holds for what he’d done to Ash, the fear that she’ll wake up and leave him shining clear as day in his eyes.

I don’t think he’ll ever lose that look.

“You sure?” I ask with a croak, knowing how fucked up our MC, along with the Untamed, the Devils, and the Huntsmen, are.

Someone always fucking takes a situation the wrong way.

Hawk, an Untamed brother, did when his old lady, Daisy, was assaulted, and it took him everything to win her back after she gave birth to their daughter, who didn’t survive, and she became a cutter, needing to be placed in a therapy center. Our own brother Anchor also thought the same with Summer, and she ended up being sold to the Pillars for eighteen months, being raped every single day, several times a day. Ink from the Untamed, fucking Quinn with Breaker from the Devils, Steal from the Huntsman, the list could go on and fucking on…

So many fuck ups.

I can’t have my girl thinking I’ve done something, I can’t lose her, I just fucking can’t.

“Breathe, son, I swear to you, she knows, she understands the situation, she just, uh,” Dad pauses with his words, and I look his way as he winces, then breathes, “Fuck, she needs a breather.”

Every fucking bone in my body seizes up as I breathe heavily, hating that fucking word.

“Why, if she knows the situation?” I choke out, and this time Ace replies, “Her great aunt passed, she was nearly arrested for kidnapping, she nearly lost her job with Cheryl front and center, and she walked in on Cheryl trying her hardest to get you hard. She walked in on the man she’s fallen for being assaulted.”
