I walk away from her just without a word as Sandra walks out the doors first, her kids all running amok, shoving each other, shouting and I raise a brow.
What the fuck?
“In a line now!” she demands loudly as a few run past her, but none of the kids are listening to her.
I blink, then blink again as I watch her grab a child’s arm and yanks them back into the line she desperately wants before she glares at the door. I look that way and awe and pride overrides me as my darling walks out, her kids all following in line, my son and daughter holding hands in the middle, which brings the biggest smile to my face.
“Dad!” Caleb shouts with excitement as soon as he sees me, causing several eyes to come my way, including Sandra's, but I ignore them as Lyra shouts, “Mr. Dirty!” in excitement.
Okay, so dealing with materialistic women was worth this.
I lock eyes with my girl's blue ones, and I swear I fucking melt at the look of awe and, dare I say, love radiating from her as she stops just shy of the gate.
I give her a wink, and she shakes her head with a smile as she turns to her kids and claps her hands once to get their attention.
They all stand up straight, looking at their teacher, while Sandra struggles to control her kids, some even running out the gate without parents here yet.
Fucking hell.
“Okay, kiddos, when I call your name, you can go, alright?” Holly says loudly, and the kids reply, “Yes, Ms. Robins,” Lyra’s, “Yes, Mama,” just hitting my ears, making me chuckle along with the other kids and parents, and Holly shakes her head with a grin.
“Lyra, you’re not going out the gate,” one of the kids giggles, and Lyra grins wide and says, “Actually, I’m going to Mr. Dirty’s with Caleb,” and I melt.
I feel Sue glare from beside me, but again, I ignore her as well, not needing the shit.
Ace really shouldn’t have fucking gone there.
“Okay, kiddos, calm down,” Holly says, though her smile is wide as Sandra snaps, “Davis, get back here, your grandpa isn’t here yet!” and I look to see her face red as she tries to get the kid back inside, who just laughs at her, though I don’t miss her eyes coming my way.
Patch chasers are annoying, but married patch chasers are the worst and most relentless believing they can have their partners to fall back on until they get what they want and the fact she can’t be fucked to wrangle her kids in and would rather check me out just makes her pathetic.
Fuck am I glad Caleb begged to be in Hol’s class.
“Thomas, off you go, sweetheart,” Holly calls, gaining my attention again, and I grin as Thomas, whom she danced with, gives her a hug, then runs past me, and one by one, Holly calls out each name, and every kid she calls gives her a hug.
I swear…
“Hmm,” Holly says as she gets to our kids as she looks towards the rest of the parents and me, “You know kiddos, I don’t see Ice anywhere…”
I chuckle, shaking my head as Lyra giggles, “Mama, Mr. Dirty is right there,” as she points my way, and I give the cutie a wink.
“Ah, yes, now I see him,” Holly says as she looks my way, “I’m just so used to seeing Ice…”
The parents all laugh, and I chuckle, “Alright, I get it, I need to do the school run more,” and Holly smirks at me.
My fucking minx.
“Can I please have my kids?” I say to my girl, and her mouth parts a little at my declaration before a small smile appears on her face, and she nods, then says, “Go on then you two, Lyra, make sure you’re good for Mr. Dirty.”
I really need to get Lyra to call me daddy one of these days. Mr. Dirty just sounds wrong.
“Okay, Mama,” Lyra says, and I watch as she kisses her mother's cheek while Caleb runs over to me, and I wrap my arm around his shoulders, giving him a squeeze, his eyes sparkling with happiness as he looks up at me.
Oh yeah, this is definitely worth it.
Lyra runs out of the gate next, and I move my arm and catch her before lifting her up, and she giggles as I place her on my side and wrap my arm back around my son, and my eyes connect with my girl’s. She has a big ass grin on her beautiful face as she watches us before she turns then focuses back on her kids, all while everyone watches on with shocked faces.
My reputation proceeds me, everyone around town knew I didn’t want a woman.
