“Wow, Miles. I—” I pause. “I honestly don’t know what to say.”
“I’m sorry if I overstepped. Henry doesn’t know I was going to talk to you,” he says. “I actually didn’t know I had this on my mind until I saw you with three cones.”
“You didn’t overstep.” I look down at my feet, laughing under my breath. “I’m not sure where we’ll be in a few months, or if we’ll be anything, but what I do know is that I really like Henry. Distance or not, friends or not… he has been someone who popped into my life at the right time—someone I don’t want to leave.”
“That makes me happy to hear.” He smiles softly. “Just… think about what I said. Give what you guys have a shot. You both deserve to be happy.”
“Thank you, Miles.”
“Now that I’m done playing Dr. Phil, let’s go give him his ice cream before it melts. I can see you’re ignoring it slowly dripping down your wrist.” He chuckles.
“We were having a deep conversation, I didn’t want to ruin the moment.” I laugh back as we stand, heading toward the Inn.
But more importantly heading toward Henry.

HENRY
I’m out of breath on the floor when I hear Miles walk in the lobby door. “Dude, what took you so long?”
“I have a friend waiting for you,” he responds without answering my question.
I peer up and see the girl who hasn’t left my mind all summer. “Friend, huh?” I wink at her.
“That’s the question of the hour, isn't it?” Miles mumbles under his breath and walks past me to see my progress on the trim we’re installing.
“I brought you guys ice cream,” she says as I stand and walk over to her. “Thought a treat would be nice after all the work you both have put in here.”
I lean in to press a kiss to her head. “Thanks, baby.”
“Can you guys just date already?” Miles says watching us as he licks his ice cream. “I’m pretty sure I’ve never calledmyfriends ‘baby’.”
There’s an awkward silence in the air now, both Maisie and I not sure what to say. After the other night, there are definitely blurred lines that we haven’t fully discussed.
“Maybe you should, baby,” I say, changing the subject to be about him.
“You know what, I think I’m okay,” he chuckles then turns around to walk into another room.
I look at Maisie who’s licking her ice cream and it gives me thoughts that I shouldn’t be having about that tongue of hers. The other night on the dock has not left my brain and probably never will. I’ve never come so hard from a blow job before, let alone come that hard in general.
I can’t wait to have her mouth on me again. I can wait to havemymouth on her again. Her tits, her pussy, her ass… I want it all.
Blinking out of my day dream, I look back to Maisie. “Do you want to stay for a bit? We’re just doing small jobs around here for the day.”
“If that’s okay with the boss, then I’ll stay.” She looks at Miles who’s in the other room now. “I don’t mind helping either, I have no plans for the rest of the day.”
“Yeah, that’s okay,” he yells through the doorway, reemerging to where we are. “Actually, if you don’t mind, I’d love some feedback and help on the decor. Henry told me all about how much he liked how you decorated your home.” A blush slowly creeps up my neck at that, slightly embarrassed, but Maisie’s smile makes me feel better. “I’ll pay you for your time of course.”
“Oh I wouldloveto!” She beams with excitement, literal sparks in her eyes. “I love decorating and the Inn already has such a fun aesthetic to it as is.”
“Henry, I’m stealing your girlfriend so I can pick her brain,” he says matter of factly. “When you’re done, come find us in one of the rooms.”
“Better work fast, your bestie is taking me to aroom,” Maisie teases, “maybe we’ll test out the beds!”
“You two were made for one another,” Miles huffs as he and Maisie run off upstairs.
It’s nice seeing them get along, it feels comforting and familiar. The more I get to know her, and be around her, the more I don’t want to let her go.
