“I love you, Amberlee.” My breathing is ragged as I whisper in her ear.
“I love you too.”
My eyes go wide. She loves me?
We stay like that for a few minutes. I don’t want to pull out of her. But I do slowly, and she winces. I gaze down at the vision she is, catching sight of my dick which is coated in her blood. A vivid reminder of what we just did. The gift she so willingly gave me.
The loss of her virginity.
“Don’t move. I’ll be back to clean you up.”
I hurry to the bathroom, wetting a washcloth in warm water and cleaning myself before heading back to Amberlee.
She’s still lying in the spot I left her, a vision of beauty.
Taking hold of her legs, I pull them apart, running the rag through her folds, cleaning her.
“Let’s get under the blankets. I want to hold you. To fall asleep with you.”
Taking her hands, I help her stand, the evidence of her virginity seen on the blanket. I catch how her eyes fall on it and the way her face flushes.
“Don’t. You gave me one of the three greatest gifts in my life.” I remind her. I’ll never let her feel embarrassed. “Now, get in bed with me.”
“I can’t. What if Ryan comes down, or Angel? They can’t catch us together. Not like this.”
She wraps her hands across her chest as she drops her eyes to the floor, her hair falling around her face, creating her own barricade.
Nope, this isn’t happening. She’s not going to feel like this is wrong.
“He can’t get into the room without a key, neither can Angel. I’ll set the alarm for early in the morning, so you can go back to your room before anyone wakes up. I just want to hold you for a few more hours. To have you close to me, before I can’t until I talk to Ryan.”
“Okay.”
My heart races at that one word.
Amberlee crawls under the sheets, and I turn off the light before lying down beside her, covering us. She rolls into me, laying her head on my chest and her hand on my stomach.
This is how I want every night to end, with her in my arms.
Chapter 20
Amberlee
I’m burning up, andit feels like there’s a weight on top of me, pinning me down. I wiggle, trying to pull away from the restraint. I’ve barely broken free when I’m pulled back against something firm, poking me in the back.
“No, you don’t. You’re not leaving me yet,” a hoarse voice whispers into my ear. Heat dances along my skin as the morning fog clears and I remember where I am.
Jeremiah! I slept with Jeremiah Dawson!
Does he regret what happened? Terrible thoughts run rampant, causing my heart to race and my skin glisten with sweat.
“Stop. I already know what you’re thinking,” he murmurs sleepily.
He rolls me over onto my back and props himself up on his elbow, locking his gaze with mine. The tips of his finger glide along the side of my face, just before he slips strands of my hair behind my ear.
Jeremiah cups my cheek, and I turn my face into his touch, just before he kisses me.
“I love you, Amberlee, nothing has changed. Last night was one of the best nights of my life, and the third best thing to ever happen to me, with Angel’s birth being the first.”
