I don’t even know how much time has passed, my hands tracing her spine when she asks, “What do you think the future looks like for us?”

“Do you mean for the two of us?”

“I mean, all of it. What does the future look like to you?”

The Brix I was when she first came back into my life hadn’t given much thought to what the future looked like. All I cared about was the band and me, seeing how far we could take it.

Things have changed.

“I picture going out on the road with the guys after our album is released. I think about what it would be like to have fans buying it, singing along with us in front of sold-out crowds and in venues three times the size of the ones we’ve been in. And I think about you, by my side through it all. I don’t want any of this if I can’t have you with me along the way.”

My eyes find hers in the moonlight. “I dream about you finding a job that’ll allow you to come with us out on the road, us starting a family, how beautiful you’ll be as our child grows inside you, and what our kids will look like. Will we have a boy who is wild and rambunctious as I was?”

“Am. Present tense. You’re still wild. That’s never changed.”

“Or will we have a little girl who’s as sassy and beautiful as her mom?”

She places her palm against the side of my face, pressing a kiss against my mouth.

Rolling her over onto her back, I slide between her legs, holding my body above hers.

“I want our future the way you see it. It sounds perfect,” she murmurs as I lean forward to kiss her again.

“I do, too, baby,” I say, trailing kisses down her neck to her chest.

“I guess it’s time we start practicing making those babies.” I peer up at her, grinning. Her eyes staring down at me, piercing me before she tosses her head back, moaning as I take her nipple in my mouth.

My life will be perfect if I get to go to bed with her, like this, every night.

Epilogue

Ivy

It’s crazy how life always seems to bring you back full circle. Two years ago, I never would’ve thought I’d be in a relationship with Brix, much less traveling the country with him.

A few months after I graduated from college, I landed an internship working for Mayhem Magazine. As hard as it was to be away from Brix again, that year seemed to only strengthen our relationship.

When we weren’t together, Brix and the guys were putting all their energy and focus into their album, which hit the Billboard Top 100 straight out of the gate. My journalism degree and my connections to Brix helped me in networking with some of the best names in the music industry.

My boss at Mayhem had me write an article for their website after following Brix and A Rebels Havoc to Twisted Tour last summer. Twisted Tour was a rock festival in the Phoenix area. The post got so many website visits, talking about the inside scoop and one-on-one interviews with some of the biggest bands, they offered me a job as one of their journalists.

The best part is they allowed me, more like encouraged me, to go out on the road with Brix and the guys. Not only am I being paid for what I love to do, I also get to travel the world with the man I love in the process.

Bringing us full circle, we’re back in Phoenix tonight, and A Rebels Havoc is headlining for their Friday night show for Twisted Tour. The tickets have been sold out since the day they were released. I know how incredible this opportunity was for the guys when they opened here a year ago. Not to mention, we’ll be staying here all weekend to watch the other shows, including High Octane, the same band they opened for when we got back together.

The guys take the stage as I glance out to take a look at the crowd. A sea of people as far as my eyes can see wait in anticipation.

Madden starts them off, as the crowd cheers in excitement, then Tysin joins on the bass guitar. Brix, dressed in his signature black t-shirt and jeans, nods his head along to the beat of the music. His leg bounces, no doubt from the adrenaline coursing through him, as he introduces them, “We’re A Rebels Havoc, baby. Are you ready to fuckin’ rock?”

The sound of his deep voice through the speakers has me closing my eyes, momentarily thinking back to the night before when I heard the same deep voice whisper low in my ear.

Jumping and screaming, it is clear the crowd is ready.

Being here, watching the guys play, and Brix sing, it is one of those things you can’t ignore. They have a natural talent and the way they work the crowd, you can’t take your eyes off them.

When they wrap up their set, they tease the crowd with an encore. Then Brix turns to the side of the stage, taking me completely by surprise, he says, “Ivy, baby, will you come out here, please?”
