Kyan was left bracing me, but only with an elbow. I slammed it back and got him to release me.
My hand shook as I reached up to my throat. Lots of fucking blood. They had all bitten my throat so fucking hard. Deep indents, blood, all right over my Scent Gland. They had fucking claimed me.
My chest felt full in a way I’d never experienced. I couldn’t have imagined it, either. Two completed bonds—two strings tethering me to two Alphas—two warm presences. I backed up, hands raised to keep them away.
All of them had zipped their cocks away. I lunged for the jumpsuit Kyan held out for me and ripped them out of his hand. With harsh jerks, I pulled it on.
“This changes nothing,” I shouted. This wasn’t what was supposed to happen! “When my heat comes, I’ll fuck as many guards as I can. I-I’ll—” My words refused to come, enhancing my frustration. Sinclair backed me up until I flinched into the wall, gawking up at him.
“You’ll be out of here by then.” Sinclair’s threat wafted across my cheek with his sweet breath.
The guard with the thick eyebrows entered, fingers hooked in his belt. “Time’s up.” He coughed, fanning his face. “Fuck, man,” he hissed.
Sergei came in behind him.
“Ready?” He raised an eyebrow at me. Heat burned my face, giving away my guilt. The familiar way he addressed me had them all tense.
Kyan looked at me, and then at him, his gaze narrowed.
“You.” Sinclair charged at Sergei.
It was a chaos of shouting and snarls and threats. Another grip yanked me out of the other door, and as soon as it shut, it cut off all the sounds.
The last view I had was Elias’ fist smashing into Sergei as Sinclair kicked his leg out from under him.
A huge guard dragged me back to solitary; his almost-violent look forced me to keep my mouth shut. He had the key to the cell, and he shoved me inside. I stumbled into the pitch-black room, and as soon as the door slammed shut, I dropped to the floor with a dry sob.
I hadn’t bitten Sinclair. Thank God, I hadn’t claimed him.
And I wouldn’t claim him.
Ever.
Chapter 37
The Alpha who spoke too familiarly with Briar rolled on the floor. Sinclair slammed his foot into the guard’s face. He could handle it. I whirled, searching for Briar’s bitter gaze, but there was no sign of her. I lunged toward the closing door.
It snicked shut before I could reach it, and it refused to open. I slapped my palm on the metal surface.
Dark circles had marred the skin below her eyes. They only seemed to be worsening. I couldn’t stand the pain on her face. It caused a visceral agony in me.
“—isn’t what we agreed to,” Bill accused, smoothing his hand down the front of his suit jacket.
“She wasn’t supposed to be in here this long.” Aggression rippled under Kyan’s skin. A tangible anger I’d never felt from him spilled through our Pack bond.
“I made sure she’s been getting certain privileges.”
“Fucking one of your guards wasn’t theprivilegeswe asked for,” Kyan hissed.
Bill lifted his hands. “I had nothing to do with that, but attacking my guards? Fucking claiming the Omega?” he growled. “All under my watch.” He kept shaking his head. They continued back and forth.
I huffed a breath out, watching the chaos with detachment. Completing the bond to her had soothed that gaping ache a little.
If only it had stifled it completely. Kyan’s agitation escalated.
“Bugger off,” Sinclair snarled at the young Alpha, struggling to brace himself against the wall.
This couldn’t continue. Our lack of control and thought wouldn’t get Briar freed, and she was still at the mercy of the men in this room. I ground my teeth, battling with the urge to slam my boot into the door she was behind.
