I go to take another drink, but gasp when I accidentally slosh some down my front."Oh no."He turns his head away and hurriedly places his card in the sleeve. I giggle, looking up at him through my lashes as I try again. "Alex, help me," I say, barely able to get the words out through my laughter.
"I'll do no such thing, beautiful," he says in a slightly rougher voice than I'm used to. His eyes go hooded again. "I'm enjoying thisvery muchover here."
I tip the drink again, spilling some onto my chin now.
He gets up, smoothing his hand in a lazy movement down the front of his shirt to sit in the booth next to me. I slide over to give him some room. That attraction between us simmers even hotter as he puts an arm around my shoulders and leans in. Without a word, he takes his free hand and steadies my glass, helping it to my lips.
I take a tiny sip before pulling away and relaxing into his side. "Thank you."
"I can tell you don't let loose like this often," Alexander notes quietly. His fingers curl around my shoulder and tuck me into his side. I take full advantage of how open he's being with me; I turn my face into his chest, nuzzling and breathing his scent in. "You feel good, baby?Safe?"he whispers the last word, now placing the glass down onto the table. He puts a finger under my chin and tilts my face up, staring into my eyes. My soul. "Do you feel safe with me, Sarah?Hmm? Tell me, Princess."
My eyes widen.Princess?
"Yes," I say breathlessly. "I know I'm safe with you. Thank you, Alex," I whisper, my eyes lowering to his mouth.
I lick my lips, tensing at the pure electric current of pleasure racing through my body. I raise my eyes back to his, and at what I find in their depths, I fall completely. I can't help it.
Sliding my hand up, I press against the hard planes of his pecs and then rub. "I can feel your heart beating," I whisper.
His head tilts, a muscle jerks under my hand, and a flush rises in his cheeks. Leaning forward, I place my lips against his on a low whimper.
I whimper again when his heart skips a beat under my palm.
His chest rumbles under my fingers before he groans low into my mouth. His flavor hits me harder than I'd expected. My senses whirl, and I press deeper. Boldly pushing my breasts tightly into his chest, my hand slides to the hair at the nape of his neck and grips it. Alexander inhales sharply, and his lips part mine. I arch my back when our tongues touch. Our tongues dance, tangling slowly, and my own heart races out of control.
His muscles flex against me, and his arms wrap around me on a deep groan.
I let out a quiet squeal when one hand sinks into the hair at the back of my head, and the other goes to my hip, hauling me slightly off the booth and into him in a rough movement.
As Alexander sucks in another deep breath, his chest tightens under my fingers. Our lips make a small smacking sound as he pulls back only slightly, breaking our kiss. Emotionally shattered, we breathe hard, and he keeps his hands fisted in my hair, holding me still for him to look into my eyes.
"What is this between us?" he whispers in a hoarse voice.
I swallow hard, unable to speak yet.
I bite my lip, my eyes flickering between his and searching for the answer that he just asked of me. My heart flutters painfully and then begins to beat slower at the sudden, mind-numbing fear that I've pegged this wrong. I mean…I don't think I have…
Seeing my hesitancy he leans forward and runs his nose along my jaw in a wildly intimate move, making goosebumps dot my arms. His breath washes along my skin as he inhales. My face feels hot, and I squirm, trying to get closer, nuzzling him just as blatantly as he's nuzzling me.
His lips trail along my cheek."Tell me,"he grits, those two words so strained and sensually charged that I find myself becoming even wetter.
To my utter horror, I begin to pant lightly, causing him to pull away. As his blue eyes meet mine and pierce deep into my soul, searching for his own truth, that wall I've erected over my heart crumbles completely. And I know, I justknow I'm not wrong.
But I have to hear him say it.
"I want you…and Ithinkyou want me, too..." I close my eyes and nuzzle against his hand, reveling in his skin on mine. I feel my heart grow weak at the feel of him so close, making me feel so connected with him. “Am I wrong?” I whisper, opening my eyes to gaze up at him.
God, please don’t let me be wrong.
It takes everything in me to say what I admitted to him earlier when he held me after my panic attack. I’d never been this vulnerable with anyone in my life. Ever…
Alexander furrows his brow before taking a deep breath. "I don't just want your body, baby. Do you understand?" His voice is rough with unrestrained emotion.
I nod, unable to speak. I clear my throat softly, trying anyways. "I do."
He looks at my empty glass before pinning me with a pointed look. "You've been drinking,a lot," he states quietly, his gaze boring even deeper into mine.
"I have...yes. I know." I blink.
