Luca’s body shuddered, a wave of heat hit him, and he felt weightless, like he was flying. He heard his Dom gasp a second later, and his hips thrusted two more times until he held his Sub still as his cock pulsed deep inside him. The feel of his Master letting go, overflowing, spurting inside him fueled his partner’s abating orgasm and his shaft throbbed again and shot out more cum.

Luca felt dizzy and overwhelmed, fighting to keep his eyes open as Brian gently placed him down onto the bed. He was vaguely aware of his Dominant cleaning him and wrapping his body around him. Eyes half closed, the Sicilian gazed over the sleeping, hugging forms of Martino and Bart, before he drifted off into the land of dreams.

***********

We should do this more often, Brian said to himself the next day, looking out one of the library's huge windows as he was turning the computer on, getting ready to start a new day at work. He smiled seeing the young man heading to the library, who stopped to chat a bit with Malaspina, as he recognized Callum, Oisin’s cousin, who used to be the bodyguard of Ferris, Reardon’s son.

The young man spent a lot of time with Oisin and Ian, listened to their stories and was shocked by what he found out about The Base and the library. He could understand why his cousin worshiped Brian, and so did Ian, especially when the young vet told him about the raven and hawk the librarian gave him as a present.

Once Oisin finished talking Callum’s ears off about his rescuer, it was Ian’s turn to tell him how the man saved his life, after he was nearly killed by his homophobic older brother, and how he protected him after that, by faking his death. The story of his cousin’s husband made the young man respect the librarian even more than he already did, after the talks the two of them had while he was in the hospital bed. After being blinded and tortured by those who kidnapped Ferris and killed his mother.

Brian had no idea what Ian and Oisin told Callum about him, and was very surprised when, one day, the young man came into the library by the route Malaspina, Liam, and Lawrence helped him learn by heart, and gave him a wholehearted hug. From that moment, the bond between them tightened, and the young man perceived the librarian as a father figure.

Outside, Callum parted ways with Malaspina, which made Brian leave his seat and go to open the door for the young man, who was walking to the library. Like all the other visually-impaired people, he followed a strict routine, and that was part of it. Busy as he was with examining the ex-guard, the librarian didn’t pay attention to the person coming from the opposite direction, who punched him in the arm, probably irritated he was blocking the doorway.

“Oww!” The person, a kid, apparently in his mid-teens, exclaimed, shaking his hand. “Why the hell are you blocking the door, moron?” He asked in an irritated voice.

“Hey, boy, watch your language!” Tanner came from the arts and crafts supply room, examining the librarian withworried eyes. “Are you all right, boss?” He shot daggers in the teen’s direction. “That disrespectful…”

“Everything is fine, don’t worry, my friend” Brian offered the guard a reassuring smile, then turned to the boy. “Kid, that's why you don't punch with your thumb inside your fist.Next time you could break your hand.” He grinned. “Not bad, though.”

“Go and fuck yourself, old man.” The boy muttered in Sicilian. “I’m not a kid, I’m twenty-one. A fully grown-up man.”

“Sorry.” Brian raised his hands in surrender, a grin stretching his mouth from ear to ear. “About not being able to honor your invitation, I mean; unfortunately, I'm at work.” The words were spoken in Sicilian, making the young man, who didn’t expect it, gasp in shock.

“Hello, my great protector!” Callum said in a cheerful voice, walking inside the library. “How was last night's round of sex? Hot enough to set the bed on fire?” He continued with the usual morning repertoire.“Did you kick someone's ass today? Or did Luca kick yours royally?”

“Hello, Callum.” Brian chuckled and huffed out a laugh. “Set fire to the bed, like always. I swear my homeowner’s insurance may drop my policy because of all the claims. And no ass kicking today, but I could use a good sparring match. Luca will probably kick my ass until the day I die.”

“Good thing you have a son who avenges your honor, or so I've heard.” Callum flashed a grin in the librarian’s direction, but the next second he frowned, listening intently. “Who's with you? A male, I think.”

“You think?” The young man huffed in contempt. “I'm big enough and standing a few feet away from you. Are you blind or something?”

Brian cast a warning glare in the direction of the Sicilian-speaking young man. “That was rude.Yes, Callum is blind, but he is also a very skilled fighter and guard.” He then turned to his conversation partner from earlier. “Having a son is a good thing. He has many advantages, age being one of them.” The librarian paused a bit, then continued on a whispered, apologetic tone. “I'm extremely sorry about that. I have our books ready in the conference room.”

“Don't worry.” Callum said softly, then swallowed hard a few times. “I can sense there's a lot of anger in his voice, but also pain. Some people have better control of their emotions than others. Ah, and thank you for those martial arts books in Braille.” A smile brightened his face.

“I know, I feel it, too. Thank you for being so understanding.” Brian protectively put a hand on his protégé’s shoulder. “No problem at all, I'm glad you’re enjoying them. Is it getting easier for you to read, or do you need help with anything?”

“No, thank you.” Callum offered the librarian another smile. “Oh, there would be something.” He smirked. “I would like to know his name.” He pointed to the other young man.

“Lazzaro Sforza.”

CHAPTER 3

“I’m Callum, nice to meet you.” He turned to where the other one’s voice came from. “And I like your name very much, it sounds…cool.” Callum fell silent, waiting for the other one to reply, but, when he didn’t, the young former guard continued the conversation with the librarian. “Your lessons helped me a lot. Well, there are some terms I didn’t understand very well, but Luca will explain them better. Speaking of, do you know he started training me to use daggers?”

“Luca will be more than happy to help you, he’s great at explaining those terms, far better than I could.” Brian guided the young man to the desk where the books were neatly stacked. “He didn't tell me that the two of you have already started practicing, only that he intended to train you in this fighting style, too. That's great news.” The librarian said, his voice filled with warmth and enthusiasm. “Those daggers are amazing. I know you'll do well.” He continued after a short pause.

“Thank you so much for giving me hope and being there for me!” Callum gave the librarian a big hug, then sat at the desk, took the book on the top of the pile, and opened it. “How's Ferris? Last time we met, he seemed...happier, lighthearted, carefree.”

“I'll always be there for you.” Brian rubbed the young man’s back, his voice warm and filled with paternal affection.“Ferris is doing well. I think he has his heart set on someone; young Mauro Sedara, I don’t know if you ever met him.”

“Of course I know him!” Callum’s answer came in a lighthearted voice. “He’s the sweet boy who loves horses, and wants to be a breeder. We met a few times, he sounded like a very nice kid. I’m happy Ferris has someone like Mauro.”

Brian was about to tell his conversation partner about how much Mauro changed since he took him under his protection, when his phone signaled an incoming call from Luca. “Good morning, is something wrong? I mean, you never call this early, and…”

“Calm down, everything’s fine. I just wanted to tell you things went smoother than initially estimated, so I thought I would go to the gym and spar with the guys after work. You know I'll have you on your back, librarian” Luca smirked at the other end of the line, and it could be heard in his voice.
