Soyasmirked.“Whoelse?”

As if on cue, Face hopped out of the car. Rolling my eyes, I folded my arms over my belly.

“Damn, Face, I see ya,” ole boy chuckled, as Face moseyed around the car, before stepping onto the sidewalk.

“What’s popping, nigga?” Face asked, as he stepped near the porch, and dapped the dude up.

“Aint shit,” Ole boy responded.

Face nodded, before ambling around him, and walking up the steps on the porch. “What’s up, y’all?” He greeted everyone, while his eyes were trained on me.

“Hey,” they all spoke simultaneously. “Babi, come here. Let me holler at you.”

I rolled my eyes, and kept scrolling through my phone. “Babi?”

Isighedheavily,whileIremainedfocusedonmyphone.

“So,youreallywantmetoembarrassyououthere?”He questioned.

I lifted my head. “What?”

“Man, you heard me,” he fumed. “Bring your muthafuckin’ ass here, before shit gets real.”

Stubbornly, I remained seated.

“Babi,”Soyaspokeup.“Justgoseewhathewants,”she pleaded. “Please.”

I huffed before scooting out of my chair. “Come on. Let’s go talk in the house.” I opened my front door.

He shook his head. “Nah.” I frowned. “Nah?”

“Yeah. Let’s walk to the car.”

I squinted. “I’m not leaving with you.”

He stroked his goatee. “Look, whatever you say, girl. Just come to the car.”

“Yeah, okay,” I grumbled, as I waddled of the porch, holding my back all the way.

“Damn,thatbellyishuge,”Soyalaughed.

I gave her the finger, as I stepped over to the Rolls-Royce, and dropped down into the passenger’s seat. Face remained on the porch for about a minute longer, saying something to everybody, before he jogged back to the car. He then hopped in, and immediately pulled away from the curb.

“I thought I told you that I wasn’t leaving?” I fussed.

“And as you can see, Ion give a fuck what you said. You finna carry your ass home. Somebody will come pick your truck up later.”

“Iwasn’tdonehangingout.”

“Oh, yeah the fuck you was.” He nodded.

My lashes fluttered. “Nigga, I am grown, in case you forgot.” “You carrying two babies in your womb too, in case you forgot

that. And the last place you need to be is in the hood, sitting on the porch with a broad you literally had a fight with.”

I sighed. “I keep telling you that me and Chell squashed all the bullshit.”

“I wouldn’t give a fuck what was squashed. Keep her out of your personal space. The company you keep matters, lil’ mama. Wake up.” “Yeah, whatever,”Igrumbled, decidingnottogobackand
