His eyes widened only slightly, and I saw that muscle feather in his jaw, when he was nervous about something. He took a deep breath through his nose before saying, “Why does that scare me when you say that? It’s never a good sign when your girl says we need to talk.”
“Nothing like that.” I was looking down at my fingers now, fidgeting with my engagement ring, as he went to make a plate of food for himself. I wasn’t second guessing my choice to be with him at all. I waited until I heard him take a bite of food himself, then said, “You said you want me to move in right away?”
“I do.” He took another bite and watched me. “Why does that bother you?”
“We… it seems fast.” I said, not knowing why I said it.
“It is, considering everything you’ve learned this weekend. Fuck, just in the last twenty-four hours, but it is the practical decision.” He paused for a moment, and said, “If you want your own place here for a while, we can do that. I just know how much you hate moving.”
“No. It isn’t that.”
“Do you want to get a place other than this? Is this too much?” His voice wasn’t angry, or anything. All I heard was a man who loved me and wanted to do anything to make me happy. “It’s just a condo. We can buy something else. I’m not attached to this one.”
“But Harper gave it to you.”
“So. If you don’t like it, or if it’s too much, we can buy something else.” He took the last bite of food, and put the plate into the sink. I studied the muscles in his back, and while they bunched and rippled as he moved, he didn’t seem angry. Rylie came and stood before me, resting his hands on either side of my hips.
I wasn’t sure why I was hesitant to move into this place. It was a dream home. A home I never thought that I could ever afford, let alone want. I turned to look around, and if I were to look for somewhere else, what would I ask for that this place didn’t have? What did I need? This place was perfect.
I looked back at Rylie. Just him. That was really all I needed. Just Rylie. I lifted my hand and ran my fingers through the stubble on his jaw. He leaned into the touch. His fingers trailed down my leg and fingered the anklet I wore. A twitch of his lips at the more intimate reason I wore it.
“You would just up and move to another place if I said I didn’t like this one?” He blinked like he thought I was crazy for even asking, but I continued, “It’s not the house. It’s got everything I need.”
“Does it have everything you want, though?” He asked, playing with the edge of my shirt.
“It has you.”
He leaned forward and kissed me, letting his lips linger on mine for a long moment. “Why the hesitation, Luce? Don’t you want to move in with me?” The sound in his voice broke me.
“It’s not that at all. It’s just a major change, and I’m still trying to absorb it all.” I met his gaze and said, “You really want me to move in right away?”
“Yes.” There was no hesitation at all. “I’ve known for months that I don’t want to wake another day without you by my side. It took me this long to be able to plan everything out, and then none of it has gone the way it was supposed to.”
I smiled at him and said, “You have the next few days off?”
His fingertips ran up my thighs, and I tried to keep from allowing the moan to bubble up, but my back bent toward him and my legs spread further apart in response.
“Theoretically, yes, as long as no other disasters happen at the office.” He leaned forward and rested his forehead on mine.
Pulling his hand to the center of me, I tilted my head back and bit my lip as he slowly slid two fingers in me. I whispered, “So, wanna help me pack?”
He froze. “Seriously. You’ll move in right now?”
I nodded and begged as I moved my hips toward him, “Please.”
He curled his fingers along my front wall, and I whimpered. “I’ll give you anything you want.”
His fingers threaded through my hair and gripped tight. When his thumb circled my clit, I let out a gush of air and closed my eyes. My hips rolled against him as he finger fucked me on that counter, hitting that delightful spot every time he hooked his fingers.
I was so lost in the pleasure that when he bit down on my nipple I jumped, but a burst of pleasure flowed through me. I tried to look down, but his grip didn’t allow me to tilt my head enough to see.
He chuckled and then his hands were on my hips, sliding me off the counter, and lifting his t-shirt I was wearing, up over my head. Only, he tied the shirt around my wrists to keep them together, and turned me around. A soft kiss was placed on my shoulder as he threaded the tee through the handle on the cabinet.
“Rye.” I breathed, and when he felt he had my hands adequately taken out of the picture, he lifted my leg, wrapping it around his hip, and in one full stroke, entered me. The coolness of the quartz counter against my nipples, as Rylie pounded into me, had them hardening with each stroke he took.
The sound of our joining filled the kitchen, and I felt his hands gripping my hips. I dug the heel of my foot into him and rolled my hips as he slowed. I lowered my leg, and I felt him run the length of me before slowly re-entering me. I felt myself quiver as he filled me slowly. When he was balls deep, I rolled my hips against him, and his groan flowed over me.
Finally, he reached over and released my hands from the binds of the t-shirt, tossing it to the side. Only, Rylie didn’t release me, but grabbed my wrists, and pulled them back behind me, using them as leverage, to thrust into me harder and faster.
