“I’ve already signed it and have it ready for you. I assumed Sam could secure your employment for the projects.” Ray took it from his pocket and plopped it on the conference table. Mr. Henderson turned and smiled at me. “The campuses each have their own specialty right? Medical supplies, paper production, rock and concrete, and electrical?

I nodded as Sam went to the contract and initialed the last few places, sealing my fate. “It’s an undertaking, but it will be a great boost for the economy. You will be bringing in a lot of trade skill based jobs.”

“We will work with the sales department to diversify the distribution. It was going to be mainly used for Webster Enterprises, but I can see the optics may not be great if we are ever audited.”

“There are some changes to at least one of the campuses that Malcom would like to make.” Jason indicated the plans on the table with a nod of his head and offered me a friendly smile. I nodded back to him, and let out a small breath in relief.

Malk came to stand next to me, and with a small smile said, “Rylie and I were talking about funding an onsite education program. Work with the local high schools as a paid ROP program or something. We haven’t worked out all the kinks on it yet.”

I walked over to the table and thumbed through the plans and asked, “Which ones?”

“Pilsen and Goose Island. Which will be medical and paper, respectively.”

When I found the campus drawings I was looking for, I laid them out flat and Jason came over and pointed to a few suggested spots. Malk looked down and when he saw the ring on my finger, his eyes went wide.

I lifted my finger to my lips and let the corner of my lips raise when he gave me a questioning look. Malk shook his head and ran his hand over his face. His eyes met mine, and he smiled, and mouthed a “Congratulations.”

I smiled softly, and whispered a “thank you” before Jason said, “Ideally, there should be a tech school on each campus, but these two locations are good places to start.”

“They are the first two scheduled to break ground, right?”

“That’s the plan.” Jason ran his hand through his hair and scratched his chin. Jason and I talked for a few minutes, sorting out a few more details, when Malk stepped away, reaching for his phone. Then I heard him behind me saying, “You fucking dick twat.”

I giggled as Jason huffed a laugh. “Poor, Rylie.”

“Yeah. I wouldn’t want to be him right now.” I said as I looked over to where Sam and Mr. Henderson were going over some other projects. I snorted a laugh when I saw Mr. Henderson’s eyes staring wide eyed at Malk.

Mr. Henderson chastised him, “Professionalism, Malcom.” Unfortunately, Malk just rolled his eyes at his father. The man had guts, that’s for sure.

He had lowered his voice, but he said, “Yeah imagine the surprise I had when I walked in and saw your girl is the one we’ve been working with for months… Asshole… There is even a… I mean congratulations and all, but a little warning.” I tried very hard not to fist my hand and bring attention to it. Let Mr. Henderson and Jason come to their own conclusions.”

“Luci, his royal asshole, wants to talk to you.” He said, handing me the phone.

“Separation, Rye.” I said evenly, and pointed to a spot on the plans that I thought might work, and gave Jason a raised eyebrow in question.

“Malcom, put your VP pants on and come look at the plans.” Jason told Malk.

Rylie’s chuckle came through the phone, and I took a deep breath. “I know, sweetheart. I’m sorry.”

“Malk’s gonna have to figure his shit out. Any of your other friends that I should be worried about having this kind of reaction? He’s throwing a bit of a hissy fit over not knowing about me.”

“Let him.” He said, but then his voice dropped and he said, “Cuz as long as I have you, I don’t care.”

“I thought we settled that this morning.” I said softly, thumbing the ring on my finger.

“We did, and I didn’t get to worship you properly afterwards, either.”

I hummed into the phone.

“I should have just pushed you against the shower wall and fucked you senseless.”

I took a deep breath, letting it out slowly through my nose at the mental image that created. I could practically feel his fingers digging into my ass as he held me against the wall and pounded into me. My voice was thick as I shifted on my feet, and said, “I think I’m already senseless if I agreed to all this.” I stepped further away and stood in front of the windows at the other end of the room.

“It’s too late now. You will be Mrs. Allen. Maybe I’ll just start calling you that in front of everyone. Get you used to it.”

“I thought I was just Luci, and you were just Rylie.” I whispered, trying to keep my voice down, and the image of Rylie owning me in the shower out of my head.

“Oh, we are in the privacy of our own home. When you are writhing under me, and screaming my name…”
