Couldn’t sleep. Do I have to repeat myself? You have five minutes.
I sighed and headed to the bathroom. After having to wait a moment for a free stall, I was pleased to see it allowed enough room for me to open my carry on just enough to slip out the silicone butt plug and lube. Security had only raised a slight eyebrow at the items when they searched my bag. One of them had even smirked a little. My phone went off, and I saw a message from Rylie.
One minute.
Sighing, I squeezed the bottle to apply a small bit of lube on the tip, then slowly inserted it in. I bit back a moan, and when I stood, I wiggled a bit to ensure it wouldn’t fall out walking. Then I took my phone and proved to him I had followed directions.
Rylie:
Good girl. Don’t remove it until you see me.
I have a dinner meeting with Sam.
Rylie:
I know.
That isn’t fair.
Rylie:
Who said I play fair? I’ll see you soon.
I could have picked you up, but you refused to give me the flight info.
There were two reasons I didn’t give him the flight info. The first was that I knew he had to sleep. Rylie had been in some stressful meetings the last few days, and I knew he would be wiped out. This was the start of a five-day vacation for him, and I wanted to make sure he was well rested. The second reason, of course, was because I knew I would have to meet with Sam for dinner, and I didn’t want to see him, only to have to leave him so soon.
I closed up the carryon, flushed the toilet, and after adjusting the dress I had on to ensure everything was indeed covered, I strode out and washed my hands.
When my phone started ringing, I rushed out of the bathroom and answered it. “Luci Baker.”
“Hey Luci.”
“Sam.” I moved over to a corner so I could hopefully hear him better. “I just got in.”
“That’s why I’m calling. My kid is sick. Can we just meet in the morning? My wife won’t be home for a few more hours.”
I blinked. “Sure. 9:00 am at the office?”
“Sounds good. See you then. Sorry for the change of plans.” Then he hung up as I heard hacking coughs in the background.
I headed down to where the taxis were and pulled my black lightweight sweater tighter around me. I can’t believe I agreed to wear this dress to travel. I had tried to tell Rylie that it would be too cold, but he had just chuckled and ordered me to wear the spaghetti strapped, corseted sundress, with a lightweight black sweater, and the anklet he gave me. The necklace wasn’t specified, but it looked great with the dress.
Granted, I looked good. I’d worked hard at the gym, and the muscle definition that I had created really showed well in this dress. While I still had about ten pounds I wanted to lose, it had been a long road to get where I was, and I was proud of that. I would never be that thin model type, but I was okay with it. I had muscle and curves, and Rylie certainly enjoyed running his hands along each ripple of them. In fact, he had seemed to revel in me accepting my body. He would often go out of his way to make me feel like a million dollars.
I took a deep breath and started to absently play with the charm on my necklace as I made my way down. My phone buzzed, and when I checked, it was my best friend, Katie. She had been so smug and difficult about this trip. She had told me to make sure to look left when I got to the taxi line up. That girl had always had the best intuition. Hell, I would go as far as to say Katie could straight see the future, but we would just be called crazy for that. I chuckled at the short, quick message.
Katie the PIMA BFF:
Have fun, and don’t forget left at the taxis.
I stepped on the escalator down to the taxi and pickup area, and thought about calling Rylie to have him just come get me. The only problem with that was I would have to wait here. At least at the hotel, I could be comfortable. Well, as comfortable as I could be until he showed up. Either way, I would be a mess of nerves.
I stepped off the escalator, and instinctively did as Katie requested. She had never steered me wrong, and so I looked left. Blinked, and did a double take.
Chapter two
“Thatfuckingbitch.”Iwhispered. How could she hold out information like this? I took a few steps to get out of the way, and froze again, when I saw Rylie take a deep breath, run his hand over his face, put his ball cap back on, and flipped the hood of his hoodie over the top. He leaned his head back and closed his eyes for a moment, his phone fisted tightly in his hand while tapping it on his leg. He hadn’t noticed me standing here like an idiot yet.
