I looked over my shoulder, where he gave me a small nod. Reaching down and fingering my clit, he picked up the pace. I couldn’t help the screams that came from my throat. Only Rylie. Only Rylie could make me feel like this. Only he could… I shattered. I lost every thought in my head as my muscles gripped him hard and he thrust in one last time, releasing himself deep within me.
He pulled me up, turned my head toward him again and kissed me. We collapsed onto the bed, and the dildo slid out from me.
“I don’t know if I can let you go home, Luci.” He kissed the spot where my neck and shoulder met. “I’m addicted to you, and…”
“And what, Rye?” I turned to face him and there was something in his eyes I couldn’t place.
“I love you.” He moved some stray hair from my face and tucked it behind my ear. I smiled at him before he gave me a quick kiss and pulled me in tighter. “Get some sleep.”
Chapter ten
Iwokeupcurledup against Rylie holding me tight against him. Shifting and he tugged me closer and whispered my name. I cherished the feel of him against me, and how, even in sleep, he wanted me close. God, I never wanted to leave his side again and to wake every morning in his arms.
So much was changing on this trip, though. But Rylie was still Rylie. I sighed, content in that thought, and rested my hand over his, running my thumb back and forth across his knuckles as I thought through dinner last night. It started with that damn job offer that was then complicated by Rylie telling me he was the freaking heir to Webster Enterprises. He was right, though. What did it change between us?
Nothing. It just meant he had a demanding job that could provide for him and his family. So the only thing that this revelation meant was that any time we were in public, it would indeed be public. There would be no hiding from the media.
I let out a long breath in confusion as I wondered how I had not found out. Was my head so deep into my work and talking to Rylie that I never paid any attention to the major player turnovers? Sure, there had been discussion about Webster Enterprises at work. There would be, considering they were such a big deal, but I hadn’t heard a whisper of who was at the helm. I knew that they had been friends, but I never would have dreamed that Harper would have turned everything over to Rylie.
He had been temperamental during that time, but I thought it was from the loss of his best friend. He would always seem to be better by the time we finished seeing each other. In reality, it was the loss of his friend and the stress of taking over a new billion-dollar company. I smiled as pride swelled within me. Rylie had helped it to continue to grow and flourish in the last year.
My phone went off, and I reached over and looked at it. Rylie pulled me back to him when I snuggled back up next to him.
Sam:
Decision?
I'll have my decision for you at 9.
Sam:
Luci.
See you at 9.
“Why is someone texting this early in the fucking morning?” Rylie said, burying his head deeper into my hair. “Don’t tell me it’s someone from home, because we both know it’s too early for our friends, too. God, it has to be, what, three in the morning there?”
“Just Sam.” I turned to face Rylie. “He wants my decision.”
“Want to talk it out?” He said, kissing my forehead. “And good morning, sweetheart.”
“Good morning. Morning breath or not. I’m getting a good morning kiss.” I brought my hand up and cupped his cheek as I kissed him.
He pushed up against me, and I felt him hard against my leg. “I can give you more than a kiss.”
I smirked and wrapped a leg around his hip. “I need to decide about work.”
“You don’t have to work. I can more than provide for us. But it is your decision. I don’t think you couldnotwork, actually. Talk it out. Use me as sounding board.” He was rambling, and when my eyes met his, my heart pounded in my chest.
“It would, well, could change things, even more for us.” I looked down and fingered the grooves in his chest.
Rylie went very still. “How much?”
My voice shook as I said, “He offered me a raise of $40,000 a year to be the personal rep for one of the accounts.”
His eyes went wide with that. “They could hire someone for that. Train them to be your assistant.”
I nodded. “That’s what I said.”
