I ran back down to the kitchen and grabbed everything I needed to clean up the mess. By the time I made it back upstairs, Jo was slipping on one of my shirts. Effectively covering up the body I loved so much.

"Didn't I tell you to keep that sexy ass in bed?"

Jo gave me a dazzling smile. "You did, but I couldn't just sit here and watch you clean that mess up alone."

We worked in tandem to get the bedroom back to the way it was before my clumsy self destroyed breakfast. When it was all said and done, we walked downstairs to the kitchen to hopefully have a successful second attempt.

"French toast okay with you? It was what I made before things went sideways."

"That sounds perfect. I'm famished."

I smiled over the counter at her before setting a new cup of coffee down.

"I wanted to talk to you about something."

Jo looked at me with one brow raised. "Is that why you were bringing me breakfast in bed? To warm me up for whatever conversation you want to have."

"Maybe. They say a way to a man's heart is through his stomach. I kind of hoped it was the same for a pregnant woman."

"You just might be onto something there." Jo lifted the cup to her lips and took a sip. "All right, hit me with it."

"I wanted to see what your thoughts were on our living situation."

After our most recent conversation, it would seem Jo was more open to us being together. I hoped that meant living together before the baby came.

"That's an easy one. We'll move into your house and put this one up for rent."

I hated to admit it, but Jo caught me completely off guard with her response. It was evident my face mimicked my thoughts because Jo laughed.

"Not what you thought I was going to say, is it?"

"Ah, nope. I definitely expected more of a fight."

"Glad I can still surprise you."

My head dropped back as I let out a bark of a laugh. "I think it's safe to say our life will be full of surprises."

Jo smirked at me. "You might be right."

"So now that we've decided to live at my place, how do you feel about renovating the place to your liking?"

I slid a plate of French toast across the island to Jo before going to the refrigerator to grab the bottle of syrup. I watched in fascination as she drowned the two slices in what had to be a half cup of syrup. "Would you like more French toast to soak up all that sugar?"

There was no death stare like I expected to get. Instead Jo popped a large piece in her mouth and moaned. "No, thanks. This is perfect."

I would take her word for it. If I used that much syrup, I would for sure be in a sugar coma.

"As for your other question, do you want to renovate the place? I'm fine either way. Your second bedroom will make a great nursery, and really that's all we need to add."

"I haven't done anything with the place since I bought it, so I figured it could use some updating anyway."

"Then let's renovate it. See how much we can get done before the baby comes." Jo popped another large piece in her mouth and smiled.

Damn I loved that this woman wasn't shy about anything. Life was definitely going to be an adventure.
