She shakes her head slowly as my lips tilt up. “Good, now, tell me what’s on your pretty mind.”
Her gaze hesitated as I pulled her closer to me and rested my other hand on her thigh, rubbing my thumb in circular motion to soothe her.
Her shoulders lower as I feeltension leaving her body. “Why do you keep me here?”
Her question surprises me as my fingers halt onto her thigh. She looks into my eyes, trying to find the answer as I sigh. “We have talked about this countless times, Doll. The world is cruel and filthy. It’s not safe for a pure soul like you. I am here to protect you from all the stains it could leave onto your heart.”
Her eyelids lower in disappointment as she nods once and looks away. My fingers tighten on her chin, hating the way she looks away from me. Her eyes meet mine again and I press a soft kiss onto the corner of her lips. “Trust me in keeping you safe. Whatever you need, tell me and I will get it for you.”
She nods again as I press another kiss to her cheek, lingering for a bit as I whisper in her ear. “Would you like to dance with me, my doll?”
Shivers run down her body as one corner of my lips tilt up in arrogance.
“You never taught me how.”
I chuckle. “We have all the time in the world.” Wrapping my arms around her waist as I lift her off me and stand to my full height.
She walks backwards as I walk towards the middle of the room. My arm reaches out to wrap around her waist, stopping her retreating. I pull her flush to my chest as her palms rested on my pecks.
I hold one of her hands in mine, gliding my fingers on the softness of her skin as I hold her wrist and smile down at her. Our fingers interlock as I rest my forehead against hers. “Relaxyour body and trust me.” My tone raspy as the music flows around us, wrapping us in a warm embrace. The candlelight flicker, dimming the dark house in a sense of hope.
“Step your feet on top of mine.”
She raises her foot and steps over mine, resting her weight on me as my lips curl up. “Good, just like that.”
Her gaze turned up to mine, hollow blue and rotting green, dancing together in our sick and twisted admiration.
I step my right foot forward as I hold her. I match a rhythm of moving in a square as I sway her body with mine slightly.
The music intensifies as her gaze turns trusting. She looks at me like I’m the only person in this world that will give her anything she points at.
“Look at you, dancing perfectly.” I wink as her lips turn up and cheeks flush in a pale blush.
She reaches a hand up and adjusts my glasses onto the bridge of my nose. “You’re a great teacher.”
I chuckle as my shoulders shake slightly and pull her closer than possible. “Oh Doll, you have no idea.”
I brush a strand of her hair behind her ear gently. “You know what will happen when it’s midnight?”
She shakes her head as her gaze turns confused. I press a kiss onto her forehead. “It will mark almost one year that you have been with me. It will be your birthday. December 1st.”
I let go of her as I walk towards a table and grab the small gift box. Walking back towards her with a smile as I hold it up for her. “Open up.”
Her hands wrap around the box hesitantly as she unwraps the ribbon and opens it. I watch her reaction, hoping to get the one I wish to see again.
Her eyebrows furrow further as she holds a small frame with a real dried moth inside.
“What’s this?”
She inspects it with a look of disgust as her lips tighten. My lips turn down as I ask carefully. “It’s a moth. You don’t like it?”
Her gaze keeps jumping from the frame to me as she shakes her head slowly, choosing to tell the truth as she knows well that I don’t tolerate two things the most.
Lying and disobedience..
“It’s disgusting.”
A heavy weight in my chest aches and my eyes burn.
