“If you have even the most minor sliver of Alpha blood, then we can stay here and have a life together. And I’m pretty sure that’s true.” A huge light bulb had gone off in her head when Aunt Dixie started explaining about going to Minnesota and what she’d discovered there.
“Why?”
“Because they did a memory wipe on you and it didn’t work.” She grinned. “I’m pretty sure you’re about to be stuck with me forever. Are you scared?”
“Nope.” He gripped her hand and a smile danced around his luscious mouth. “Not even a little.”
“Do I get the ring back?”
“Does a bear poop in the woods?”
Valene giggled.
By the time they walked into Gage’s lab, it was clear by the revelry inside that Wyatt was Alpha enough to marry her.
Gage read from a piece of paper. “Wyatt Campbell definitely has Alpha blood in his system, but it is a different type than Juliana’s royal blood.”
“I don’t have royal blood? Bummer,” Wyatt said with a laugh.
He pulled the engagement ring out of his pocket, slipped it on Valene’s finger and asked, “Will you still marry me even though I don’t have royal alien blood, but instead Suspicion, Minnesota Alpha farmer’s blood?”
“Yes! I love you, Wyatt. Besides, instead of royal blood, you have Guardsman blood. It’s perfect for you.”
“I love you, Vee.” He pressed his lips to hers in a sweet kiss that turned less sweet after a few seconds. They broke apart when Diesel put a hand on each of their shoulders.
“I’m happy for you both. There will still be a bunch of paperwork before you can be official.”
“No worries. It’s usually not worth it if there isn’t a ton of paperwork involved.”
“Obviously, I will do whatever I can to expedite this. However, I don’t expect you’ll be able to tell your parents or any of your family about Alphas, maybe ever. Will that be a problem?”
“Nope. Honestly, I doubt they’d believe it anyway.”
“Hunter also can’t ever know. I don’t think I can stress to you the importance of this.”
Wyatt nodded. “I understand. Don’t worry.” He glanced at a grinning Valene. “I’ll do whatever it takes to make a life with Valene on Earth. No one needs to know anything.”
Valene moved in for a kiss. He obliged her. This was the first hopeful kiss he’d shared with her since they met. This kiss began their forever.
Epilogue
Two months later…
Wyatt stared at Valene in wonder. In a short while, they were hosting a party at Wyatt and now also Valene’s house to celebrate their elopement exactly one week ago. The moment the extensive paperwork came back from Alpha-Prime that they could marry and live on Earth, they’d hightailed it to the Justice of the Peace and said, “I do.”
One week of wedded bliss assured him their life together would be amazing.
“I need to tell you something,” Valene said, placing a vase of flowers in the center of their dining room table.
“That you love me? I already know.”
Valene smiled. “I do love you, but this is something else. A surprise.”
“I love surprises.”
“I hope you love this one.”
