Cassie batted her hand away. “If the other night is anything to go by, I’m sure you know how to handle any woman, regardless of their nationality.”

“Americans are my specialty though.” Taryn dropped her hand onto Cassie’s thigh and squeezed gently. “Are there cameras around?”

“Yes, there are.” Cassie licked her lips and hit the roof button to cover the car again. “But they won’t see anything this way.” She reclined her seat and lay back.

Taryn gave a low growl and unbuttoned Cassie’s jeans. She slipped her hand inside and moaned again when she found Cassie already wet beneath her silk panties. She leaned closer and pressed her lips over Cassie’s, and Cassie grabbed a handful of Taryn’s leather jacket, pulling her in.

“You can’t do this on your motorbike,” she whispered, just about able to speak over the insanely incredible feeling of Taryn’s finger over her clit and the soft leather in her grip.

“Oh, we can.” Taryn kissed Cassie’s jawline and down her neck to her collarbone. “If you ever let me take you out on it, I’ll show you how.”

Cassie closed her eyes and gave her complete attention to the pleasure building under Taryn’s fingertip. Her mind drifted to laying back on Taryn’s bike in the middle of the desert while Taryn expertly guided her off the cliff and into a river of desire. She half-opened her eyes; she didn’t need to imagine something sexy—sexy was happening right in front of her, and she gave herself over to it, to Taryn, who looked at her as though she was Cleopatra to her Marc Antony. She couldn’t recall ever being looked at quite so intensely, though she hoped they wouldn’t suffer the same fate.

It didn’t take long before she was pushing her hips up and down in time to Taryn’s rhythm, riding the wave to its crest. She peaked and fell into her orgasm and clamped her mouth over Taryn’s to consume what would’ve been a scream loud enough to echo off the walls and wake the neighbors’ sleeping cats.

Taryn removed her hand, sucked on her middle finger, and grinned. “You taste like heaven.”

Cassie rolled her eyes and fixed her clothes. “You’re too smooth.” She took the top down again, drove out of the garage, and pulled up alongside Taryn’s behemoth of a bike. “You better put that in my space, or it’ll be melted by the time we get back.”

“Yes, ma’am.” Taryn saluted and jumped out of the car.

She pulled off her jacket to reveal a tight tank top with a female pirate on the front. Her arms weren’t huge, but they were ripped and defined, and Cassie sighed happily, thinking about all the good use she would put them to over the coming months.

“Like what you see?” Taryn tensed, and her traps practically exploded around her neck.

“Very much so.”

Taryn grinned and tossed her jacket on the backseat. She unstrapped a small canvas duffel bag from the back of her bike and dropped it with her jacket before straddling the bike and making it roar into life. Cassie watched the muscles in Taryn’s chest, shoulders, and arms ripple with the effort of straightening the bike, and Cassie pressed her thighs together to quell her responding throb. Taryn made a perfectly balanced U-turn and disappeared down the driveway. She leaned back against the headrest. This beat covering Fischer’s shift any day of the week three times over. She briefly thought about her mom; she shouldn’t have just paid out five thousand dollars to a random guy. For all Cassie knew, it could’ve been her mom’s latest squeeze, and they just wanted some good-time money. She pulled her phone from her bag and quickly thumbed a WhatsApp message asking her mom to send her a picture of the car. Predictably, the text didn’t deliver, confirming Cassie’s fears. She had a feeling her mom had two phones and only switched this one on when she wanted something. Cassie put her phone down and tried to put her mom out of her mind. She was having another rare day off, and she had fantastic company. They were on an adventure, and there would be more amazing sex. Her mom was the last thing she wanted on her mind.

Taryn jumped back in and smiled. “Do you mind if I put my phone up here for you?”

Cassie shook her head. “Go ahead.”

Taryn placed her phone on the dash mount. “That’s your route, captain,” she said and relaxed back into her seat.

Cassie had no idea where they were going, and she didn’t really care. Even though she was the one driving, it felt like she was just along for the ride. Cassie ceded control and set off. It didn’t matter where they were going; the world just seemed a lot more fun with Taryn alongside her.

Chapter Eleven

Cassie pulled into the gravel parking lot, turned off the engine, and stared at Taryn. “I can’t swim.”

Taryn placed her hand over Cassie’s and smiled. “You won’t have to unless we sink.”

Cassie’s eyes went wide. Taryn recognized fear when she saw it, so she squeezed Cassie’s hand gently.

“That’s not funny.” Cassie pressed back into her seat and shook her head. “Boats aren’t really my thing.”

“Because you can’t swim or is there something else?” Taryn wasn’t about to push Cassie into anything she didn’t want to do but facing fears could be incredibly cathartic and empowering.

“I think the urge to avoid a watery death is enough, don’t you think?” Cassie smiled, but the edge to her words indicated her discomfort.

“Okay.” Taryn shifted in her seat and put her hand on Cassie’s shoulder. Her skin was warm, but she was covered in goosebumps. “We can turn around and head right back to your place if you want, or…”

Cassie turned to face her and arched her eyebrow. “Or?”

There she goes with the sexy eyebrows again. “Or you can put on a life vest and take a gentle ride with me. Being on water can be super peaceful and tranquil.” Taryn paused to see if Cassie might protest, but she simply stared at her with wide, trusting eyes. “No one around for miles and just the big blue sky above you. No imposing skyscrapers and honking horns. I think you might like it.” Taryn herself hadn’t experienced peace on the water, or anywhere else for that matter. Always being on the go was kind of the antithesis of tranquility, and she’d been hoping to tear around Lake Mead in the most powerful boat they had for hire. But she’dheardthe water could be serene.

“You’realmostconvincing.” Cassie got out of the car and pushed her door closed. “And youalmostsound like the voice of experience, but I’ll bet dollars to donuts that you’ve never taken a sedate boat ride in your life, and you were hoping to tear around this lake at top speed.” She rested her hands on the edge of her door and looked at Taryn with a serious expression. “And I’ve just ruined your plans.”
