Connor’s little heart just got broken by the love of his life. The girl he once was convinced he’d marry decided to ride another dick. He isn’t looking for anything serious—he’s looking for a fuck and fling.

Sunny isnotthat girl. No, someone like Sunny is for fucking life.

Shelby already pissed me off, so I’m not willing to sit here and let this happen tonight. Maybe Mitchell is right, because right now, I’m beyond irrational. Before I can even stop myself, I’m walking towards them.

Friends my fucking ass. Sunny and I are not just friends. We canneverbe just friends. Connor still tries to make a pass when another man’s damn coat is around her shoulders.

“Sunny, can I speak with you?” I ask.

She looks me up and down. “No.” And continues playing cornhole, ignoring me entirely now.

I can’t decide if I’m turned on or pissed off by her confidence. My little fire is learning just how much power she has over me. I’m about to show her just how much power I have, too.

Connor observes us with a smug smile. I never liked the guy, and when I look at him, I plan out all the ways I’ll make him pay for this. The first being cutting his hands off, the last will be carving his eyes out so that he can see everything I do to him, first.

“Sunny, please,” I say through gritted teeth, giving her one last chance before I snap.

“Tyler, no.” She tosses a sack and scores. “Yes!” she cheers, acting as if I’m not standing here like a fucking puppy dog begging for her attention.

Leaning my head back, I look up at the sky. If I don’t fucking do something, she’ll be going home with Connor tonight, and I’m not about to let that happen. She’s going to be pissed, because I’m about to be the biggest cock block of her life.

Despite my fuming rage, I keep my calm demeanor as I stalk over to her and sling her over my shoulder in one simple swoop.

“Tyler!” she yells. She beats my back with her fists, fighting my hold. It’s laughable, honestly. All our training down the drain in this single moment.

Turning to Connor, I smile. “Have a good night, Connor.”

And I take what’s mine.

CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

SUNNY

Angry is an understatement.I’m fuckinglivid. I hit his back as hard as I can, but he doesn’t budge as he carries me through the venue, not caring about all the shocked faces watching us.

He walks up the stairs taking two at a time in swift motions, bringing me back to the balcony we stood at earlier. He stares at me blankly when he sets me down.

Straightening my jumpsuit, I realize his jacket is still around my shoulders. I take it off and shove it in his chest. “What the actual fuck, Tyler?”

He pushes it back to me. “I told you not to get involved with a guy like him.”

“It’s none of your business who I involve myself in.” I cross my arms, refusing to take the jacket back.

He sighs and slings it around my shoulders again. “It’s my business when it involves my family,” he growls, crossing his arms over his chest.

“Tyler, he is a perfectly kind man.”

He shakes his head. “No he isn’t.”

“How do you know?”

“I grew up with him, Sunny.”

“We have an understanding.”

His jaw flexes at my comment because Tyler’s jealous. He’s jealous forme.

He places his hands in his pockets, looking down at his shoes. “And that’s what you want?”
