A low chuckle from Chance vibrates against my back as his body leans against me. When his words penetrate my ear, my eyes flutter closed without permission.
“That means I did my big one this morning, huh? If you’re a good girl, I’ll fuck you to sleep.”
God, please.
Chance seems to be determined to make me embarrass myself in front of his circle. The problem is, I welcome the embarrassment if it means I get to end the night with him. I’m ready to beg him to forego this little group event so he can makegood on his promise. Hell, I can fake being tired just as well as I did at the start of our time here. Only my urge to have my legs up by my head and my treasure leaking with my juices would make this lie effortless.
“Aye,bro. We need to holla at you for a minute,” Jamie says. Peaches is beside him, and the grimace she wears almost makes me want to laugh in her face.
“I’ll meet you in the room,” Sadia says before she releases my hand.
My chest tightens from the disconnect as my mood sours the minute she walks away without another word or backward glance. We just finished breakfast after another sunrise wake-up, and the bliss from our coupling is now shattered by this inconvenience. Neither Jamie nor Peaches attended the bonfire last night, and it didn’t affect the rest of our group's time. Between the overflow of laughs, drinks, and conversation neither of them was missed or asked about. I should have knownthat the bitter party of two couldn’t let the moment pass. So I guess there’s no time like the present.
“As you can see, I have more pressing matters to attend to, so let’s make this quick.” I walk off and head to the small sitting area not too far from where we are.
I don’t feel like being bothered with this bullshit. Once we’re all seated, I stare blankly, and of course, Peaches is the first to speak.
“I find it interesting how you show up here with your ass on your shoulders and disregard for the people who have been standing with you all these years. Like, are you cool?”
I stare blankly at Peaches as she claps her hands while she attempts to check me. Then my gaze shifts to Jamie, whose gaze is on his wife. A low chuckle escapes my mouth as I shake my head.
“Did you two clowns really stop me from returning to my room for this? I was having a great morning, and here y’all come with the shits about nothing,” I say.
“Don’t do that, bro. Peaches has a valid point. We’ve been rocking for years, and while no one but the three of us knows what we’ve gotten into, you acting funny style.” Jamie enters the conversation.
Another chuckle from me sounds before I reply, “So which part of this are y’all really mad about? Not being able to fuck my woman or not being able to suck my dick?”
From the time Sadia and I arrived, my attention and focus have been on changing our status. I have been intentional about going from fake to real with Sadia. Therefore, my usual interactions with my friends and my hands-on involvement with the group haven’t been significant. It’s crazy that these two supposedly happily married mothafuckas are in their feelings about not getting a chance to mix and mingle with my woman and me.
“This isn’t the first time we’ve swapped partners during one of these trips. Why change now?” Peaches says, which pretty much confirms my statement.
Peaches has been dying for a chance to get my dick in more places than her mouth. I know that’s the reason for her tantrum and the shots she’s been firing toward Sadia. For Jamie, I know it’s because my woman is finer than a mothafucka. The comparison between his wife and my woman is like comparing Sloth fromThe Gooniesand Jessica Rabbit. But hell, his bad choice in a woman isn’t and will never be my problem. He should have chosen from the top branches instead of the crab apples that hit the ground in the garden.
“But for real, why are you moving like we ain’t have a great thing going, bro? Peaches and I already had our plans ready. Then you come in here like you’re suddenly too good to play,” Jamie adds.
This mothafucka is delusional.
“Let me put you up on game right quick. When you’re blessed with the woman God designed just for you, there will never come a day when you repay Him by gifting any part of her awesomeness to the next man. Sadia is the rare jewel I found in the rough after love spent years giving me its ass to kiss. I’ll be damned if I fuck around and lose her to satisfy your marital needs. I suggest you two spiteful mothafuckas find you another willing fool, because this is where I officially get off the merry-go-round.” I stand and prepare to walk away from this pointless conversation as irritation forms from the waste of time it’s been.
“Wait, Chance. Wait,” Peaches calls in a high-pitched, syrupy tone that instantly curls my lips.
Jamie is a fool because there is no way I would sit by as my wife beacons the next nigga. This shit is crazy.
“Chance!” Jamie calls, and I halt my retreat.
Now God, I know we shouldn’t question you. But why didn’t you bless this fool with the sense Jonah had after he spent time in the belly of the whale?
I turn to look at Jamie, and I see a plea in his eyes, which makes a frown slide into place, because there is nothing else to discuss. Our shit and all of its fucked-up arrangements are a wrap. Jamie will never get a chance to experience Sadia, and Peaches should have photographed my dick in her mouth because her last time was the last.
“One las?—”
“Not a chance in hell. Since my happiness seems to be a line in the sand for you, let’s end this friendship too. I don’t want to take my past into my future.” With that, I walk away without a word.
There will never come a day when I choose promiscuity over the potential for monogamy with Sadia. I’ll walk away from friends, family, and anyone else who doesn’t understand that I won’t compromise my woman for a cheap thrill. My mind spins as I take the elevator ride and walk to my room to get myself together. Jamie’s actions surprise me more than Peaches’s did, but I don’t regret choosing my relationship over our friendship. Sometimes, in life, not everybody can go with you on every journey. It’s evident that Jamie doesn’t value anything more than the sexual release between him and his wife.
“Oh well.” I shrug before I tap my key card against the lock, and the minute I walk in, all thoughts of our conversation fade into the background.
“I thought we could take a nap.” Sadia smiles.
