He chuckles and nuzzles my neck. “I’ll clean it up, Angel.”
“Did you call me that in Greek? Angel?” I ask him, suddenly feeling shy.
“I called youmyangel.”
I like that.
“Now—” But before he can complete that thought, his phone starts to ring at the side of the bed. “I’ll fucking kill whoever that is.”
“Just ignore it.”
The phone stops ringing, and Julian shrugs a shoulder and goes back to kissing me, but then it starts to ring again.
“Fuck,” he growls, and rolls to the side of the bed, scooping up the phone on his way. “What?”
I can’t hear what they’re saying on the other end of the line, but his whole body goes tight.
“When?”
I reach out and drag my hand down his back, from his neck to his ass. I like having free rein to touch this sexy man.
The tattoos on his right arm move up to his shoulder and over his shoulder blade. They’re all different images. Flowers, knives—alotof different knives—and a clock.
“The shipment arrives this evening, you know that. I want everything in place, with extra men. No fucking this up. Yeah, I’ll make those calls now. Keep me informed.”
He hangs up and then pushes his hands through his hair before turning to look down at me.
He cups my face, his thumb dusting over my cheek so gently, it makes me want to purr.
“You don’t flinch when I touch you anymore,” he says, watching me carefully.
“I love it when you touch me,” I admit, and his lips curve.
“Good. Because I plan to have my hands on you at every opportunity. I have to cut this short, but I’m taking a rain check on what comes next.”
“I need coffee,” I inform him.
“Me too.” He leans over to kiss me softly, andholy shit, this man can kiss. His lips should come with a warning label.

NATASHA
Today has beenthe best day that I’ve had in a long while. After waking up to the spiciest sexual experience of my life—and we haven’t even actually had sex yet—I had some coffee and sat out by the pool to read for a while. Julian spent a long time in his office. Every once in a while, I’d hear him yell at someone on the phone.
My husband is intense when he’s in work mode.
But he’s only ever good to me.
Part of me wonders if I’m giving him too much trust too soon. We’ve only been married for a few days, and although he’s never threatened me in the past, I should keep my guard up and my eyes open. Because men can be unpredictable in our world.
I should know that better than anyone.
With a sigh, I fiddle with my necklace and close my eyes, enjoying the sunshine. I was in the shade for a while, but it feels good in the sun. With it being fall, the days have been getting cooler and cooler, so it’s not too horribly hot today.
Not like the oppressive heat over the summer.
“You’re going to burn.”
