“Get the fuck out,” I said, moving to shut the door in his face.

But he slammed his hand against it, stopping me from closing it, just as he scented me. And the immediate vicinity.

His eyes narrowed.

I tensed as I knew exactly what he’d scented.

As if to further emphasize that, Zayn was suddenly right at my side.

“She told you to leave. Get gone, shithead.”

A dangerous snarl came from Keuric as he looked between us.

Then he glared at me accusingly. “You screwed around with him?”

“As if that’s any of your business in any way at all. Damn, you’re a real creeper, you know that?” Zayn told him.

Before I could get a word out, he fired his dragon ice at Zayn.

I reacted just in time, catching it in my hand.

It had me knocking into Zayn, though, and the impact sent him careening across the room.

Having to catch the sudden blast of power also destabilized my footing, and Keuric took full advantage of it, bursting in through the door, then shoving me to my knees with his dragon strength, calling his power again and streaming it at me, holding me there.

“Kneel, whore,” he seethed at me.

Fucker.

I growled low in my throat and called my power, about to show him what true draconic might actually was, when Zayn blasted him away from me with his fuchsia flame.

It sent Keuric staggering back.

“Get the fuck away from her!”

Before I could get to my feet, Keuric ran at Zayn using his supernatural speed, so Zayn didn’t have time to react. He snagged him and burst out with him through my balcony, calling his dragon wings as he went.

I rushed over there, and Keuric fired a massive blast of his ice at me, which sent me crashing back into the outside wall, two bands of frost trapping me to it—one across my chest, the other across my thighs.

Son of a bitch!

He swept Zayn over the campus buildings and to the other side, where I looked through some of the windows to be able to see him approaching the lake at the rear of campus.

He dropped him from a massive height and Zayn hurtled down toward the lake.

I choked as I saw that it was partially iced over, and Zayn crashed into it, water and ice spraying everywhere, his pink flame cutting out.

No!

I shuddered as he took several moments to push back to the surface.

And even when he did, I saw him struggling to haul himself out onto the bank.

He only just managed to get to his feet, and very shakily, as Keuric touched down and dematerialized his wings.

The maniac called his glacial power to his right hand.

And then he tossed it.
