We’re greeted by a woman dressed all in black. “Hello. My name is Maryse, and I’m going to help you with your appointmenttoday.”

I don’t have a ring. I don’t have a venue. I don’t have a weddingdate.

I look at Avery and mouth, “Appointment?”

She shrugs and we both follow the woman to the fitting room. “Tell me what you’re looking for in your weddingdress.”

I feel horrible for wasting this woman’s time because Avery wants to play wedding today. But it’s too late to back out now. “I’m short and I think that a ball gown will overwhelm my frame.” And Tristan loves my booty. I don’t want it to disappear until layers of poofyfabric.

“I agree. No ball gown for your body type. What about an airy sheath or a thin crepe with a deep neckline to elongate yourframe?”

Honestly, I haven’t even looked at dresses. I have no idea what I want. “I could try those on, Iguess.”

“What kind of budget do you have?” the salesclerkasks.

“She doesn’t have a budget. She can afford any dress in this shop,” Averysays.

I can’t believe her. “Avery… everyone has abudget.”

“Well, you know that Tristan will buy you any dress that youwant.”

“It’s my dad’s place to buy my weddingdress.”

“Okay, then. You know that your dad will buy you any dress that youwant.”

“Tristan who?” the salesclerkasks.

Oh shit. “TristanBroussard.”

“You’re marryingTristanBroussard?”

Fuck.

Fuck.

Fuck.

She knowshim.

Has she been his submissive? She looks young to be a submissive, younger than me. Does she know him from theclub?

Damn it. This experience is going to be ruined for me. How am I going to enjoy trying on wedding dresses when I’m looking at her and thinking about my husband-to-be fuckingher?

“Oh, you knowTristan?”

“Known him for half of my life. I’m Ray’sdaughter.”

“Ohh… you’re that Maryse?” I’m putting it togethernow.

“Yes.”

“Oh, Ray talks about you all of the time. I feel like I knowyou.”

“Dad didn’t tell me that you and Mr. Broussard are gettingmarried.”

“We just started talking about it. Nothing has been decided.” I laugh to hide my embarrassment. “We don’t even have a dateyet.”

“Well, I’m going to help you find the perfect dress. But not before we make atoast.”
