“Not sentient,” Doc agreed, looking vaguely disgusted. Then he turned away and roared, “HIJINKS!”
Elsewhere in the mansion, the butler cackled. “I warned you!”
Ottis sighed. “At least we’d have a good story to tell. If you ever wanted to tell your friends.”
“I don’t know. I think I’d prefer this staying as an inside joke,” Doc said, and paused.
Their eyes met. Both of them began snickering.
“It sure is a deep... inside joke,” Ottis giggled.
“Oh, hush,” Doc said, but he didn’t sound like he meant it at all.
Later, when they had recovered, Doc said, “Speaking of friends. Will you be telling your brothers?”
He ran his knuckles meaningfully over Ottis’ belly.
Ottis sucked in a sharp breath. “Crap. If my brothers find out that you knocked me up, they’re gonnakill you.”
