Part of me still believed that once I left his place on Sunday the doubt would creep back in, the spell would be broken and he would call me into his office on Monday to tell me it was all a mistake.

He did call me into his office on Monday morning but instead of denying the chemistry we clearly have, he picked me up, set me on his desk and gave me a good morning blowjob.

That’s how every morning this week has started and long may it fucking last. Not only am I getting good morning blowjobs, but Ryan and Carter decided it would be a great idea to bring their puppies to work every day. They play and bond with their littermates because, of course, when Carter saw Ryan’s cute-as-fuck English Bulldog pups he wanted one too. Could this job be any better?

Gavin built a pen for them in the break room so they can’t get near any equipment or clients. Thor, Loki, and Carter's pup, Hulk have been an endless source of inspiration for me. I decided those perfect little fluff balls need costumes to match their namesakes and who better to make said costumes than Uncle Pete. Only the best for my nephews after all.

I arrive at work Friday morning, looking more like a zombie than a human after staying up way too late to sketch and research pet clothing designs. Between these three pups and my sister Kim’s pup Scarlett, I have all the models I need.

I catch Gavin’s eye the second I enter the shop.

“You okay, Jellybean?” he asks, his brow creasing in concern as he takes in my exhausted state. I move around the reception desk and drop a kiss on his lips, simply because I can. We didn’t make any kind of big announcement that we are dating or fucking or whatever we are doing but Gavin hasn’t been shy with his affections toward me in front of them and that alone makes my heart double in size for the big man.

“I’m good, baby, excellent actually. The puppies were on my mind the whole night,” I say and try to hide a yawn.

“Why? Is something wrong with them?” he asks, concerned, his eyes darting to the break room where little yips and growls emanate.

“No, fuck no. I just have this idea and I was making plans to make them their own superhero costumes.” The excitement in my voice is obvious as I thrust my phone with my sketches in front of his face. I watch closely for his reaction. Gavin isn’t a man of many words but his expressions and his eyes give everything away. Clearly I spend far too much time studying him because I can practically read his mind at this point.

“These are amazing, you can make these?” he asks, his eyes lifting to meet mine as I stand beside his chair preening at his compliment.

“Why yes I can, better yet, I fully plan to. Along with many other custom garments,” I beam and he chuckles. “I had this idea a while ago, when they first brought the puppies home, that maybe I could design and make puppy clothes, to sell, like a business.” My face blushes a little hoping that he doesn’t think this is a stupid idea.

“Only you would make an entire wardrobe for puppies, but seriously these are really good. You definitely could sell these designs.” His words of encouragement warm my heart and send a burst of excitement through me. Not that I needed his approval or validation but it feels good to have somebody cheering for me. I have some money saved now to invest in myself and my dreams. It won’t be like it was before, scrimping and saving to buy materials or worrying that I might lose my job at any moment and be forced to give up again. This time I have a real shot.

“I know we have a date tonight, but would you mind if I bring some materials to your place? We could get takeout and I can work on the patterns for the costumes while we watch a movie?” I ask, giving him my best puppy dog eyes. Gavin just looks up at me and smiles as he stands up and takes my face in the palms of his hands as he leans down to connect our lips.

“Of course Jellybean. We can go after work to the craft store and get what you need then you can work on those while I make us dinner. All I ask is that you come to bed with me when I say it’s time. You look exhausted and I want to make sure you get a decent night’s sleep.” Be still my beating heart. “Besides, with the art show prep in full swing I can get some sketches done while you work on your designs.” He kisses me then and steals any words that had been forming in my mind so all I can do is nod.

I try to focus on my actual job and the schedules I’m managing but it’s really hard. All I want to do is go play with the puppies and measure them again. I’m convinced Carter is feeding Hulk protein shakes, he should not be that big already. Maybe I just need another hit of caffeine, that will give me a boost of energy, and if a puppy happens to walk over to me while I’m making it, well it would be rude not to pet it.

“Hey guys?” I call out as I walk around my desk and head to the break room. “I’m going to–” I step on something and it gives a loud squeak. My tired brain assumes I trampled one of the puppies. I jump in the air, a horrified scream ripping from my throat as I look frantically around for the injured furbaby. Laughter reaches my ears and I look down beside my foot. A fucking rubber chicken, one of the dog toys, is staring up at me, mocking me.

“Fuck you chicken, and fuck all of you. I was going to get you coffee. You can forget about it now.” I turn on my heel, pretending to be offended. On my way out I can hear Carter yelling, “We’re sorry, Trouble, please bring us coffee.”

Later I’m sitting across from Gavin at his wide dining room table. Both of us with sketchbooks in front of us and pencils littering the surface around them. I watch my man as he draws the most beautiful Japanese Geisha with cherry blossoms falling around her. The flowers look soft and the woman has this expression of sadness to her that is a contrast to her beauty and the flowers around her. It’s exquisite. I have no doubt that this piece will sell at the charity art show the shop is hosting next month.

Ryan was the only artist from Savage Ink to participate in the show in March and I guess Drew missing it was the straw that broke the camel’s back of their relationship. Thankfully my brother pulled his head out of his ass and won Ryan back. I guess that art show inspired the rest of the guys at the shop to sign up and for Gavin to offer to host the event. I imagine the fact that the proceeds go to a local LGBTQ+ youth center played a big part in that decision. I’m so proud of the guys, of Gavin the most obviously, and I’m excited to be involved this time. Although I won’t be submitting any sketches to sell, I will be there to coordinate the event and make sure that everything runs smoothly. A smile stretches across my lips as I watch Gavin nibbling the end of his pencil as he sits back to scrutinize his work. I take in the way his brow creases and his lips almost form a pout. Fuck I’m so gone for this guy.

“It’s beautiful, Grumpy Bear,” I whisper, smiling over at him, marveling at the way his face transforms when he looks at me. Has anybody ever looked at me like that before? I doubt it. I can feel his gaze burning me up from the inside out. It’s like he’s physically touching my heart. It’s yours big guy, may as well take it.

“Thanks, Jellybean. Can I see what you have been working on?” he asks, before getting up and moving around to my side of the table, his sketchbook and pencil abandoned. I feel his body pressing against my side as he leans over to look at the rough sketches of the Marvel costumes. Thor and Loki are center page with Hulk and a few others dotted around them. I figure if people see the puppies in their costumes they might want a different superhero for their precious furbaby.

I lose my train of thought entirely when I feel Gavin’s callused finger lightly stroking down the skin at the back of my arm leaving a trail of goosebumps in its wake. I doubt he realizes what such a simple touch from him does to my body. I lean into it and savor the feeling.

“This is so awesome,” he says with admiration. “The puppies are going to look incredible in these.” He looks closer and points at one of the projects. “Are you really capable of making it look like that? With all the details?”

I consider his question. I mean the costume won’t be big. It’s for a pet so depending on the size of it I might find some issues, but I love the challenge.

“I won’t know until I try. If someone were to order this kind of costume for a chihuahua it might be a problem, but I can think of a few changes that will still make it look great,” I say with conviction. Confidence is key after all. I believe I can, so I will.

“I had no idea you were so creative. It’s hot.” I can feel his hard dick pressing into my upper arm. I get it, creativity kink maybe, because every time I watch him working that tattoo machine, focused on recreating a sketch on someone’s skin, all I can think about is how fucking hot he is in that moment. I turn in my seat to look up into his eyes.

“Is there something I can do to help…” I peek at his dick and then back up, “...with your predicament?” Lifting my hand, I massage the bulge in his jeans.

“It’s not a predicament if you’re here to make it better.” Gavin’s smirk is playful but he has no idea how much I want it.

“Anytime, big guy. Just say the word.” I wink and stand up. “So, I’ll ask again, is there something I can do to help?” I bat my eyelashes while looking into his eyes, my hand still gently squeezing.
