I could tell he was close, but so was I. Reaching behind me to massage his balls, I sank all the way so that he stretched me wide, rocking hard against him over and over again until we both went off like a rocket. Liquid warmth spread through me as he flexed his hips into me again and again.
“Holy shit.” I slumped over him, thinking two things. It was the best sex I’d ever had. Ever. The second thing was that we’d forgotten a condom. Idiotic. I closed my eyes and tipped my lips to his, even as I flexed against him, enjoying the pulsing of his dick and weirdly the gushing of wetness between us. “That was amazing.”
“It was.” He brushed my hair from my face, tucking the strands behind my ears. Our eyes met. “I didn’t have a condom on.”
“Yeah, that was my bad,” I admitted. His eyebrows drew together in a frown, and I moved to get up, but he held me tight.
“No, I like you right where you are.” His hips flexed up. “Relax, Trouble. It was my responsibility to wrap up. Not yours. I’m clean. I haven’t been with anyone else for over six months.” He was frowning again.
That settled me a little, but it probably wasn’t for the reason that he was thinking of. Itwasreckless.
Nervousness swept over me, but this was a conversation we should have already had, so I forged ahead. “I’m clean too, but I had my IUD taken out last month because myperiods were too heavy. I’m supposed to go back on the pill, but I haven’t done it yet. It’s hard sometimes to get into a clinic with my schedule.” I bit my lip, aware of the sticky mess between my thighs. “It isn’t the right time of the month for this to be a problem.” Problem seemed to be the wrong word. Trying to tiptoe around the issue was like a minefield, and I suddenly felt awkward. We really didn’t know much about each other, and that felt weird considering how intimately we were pressed together with his dick in my hoo-ha.
“It’ll be alright, Hattie. No matter what. Whatever is happening between us isn’t nothing,” he said, voice barely audible against my hair. “I hope you know that.”
Swallowing hard, with my fingers curling at the back of his neck, I let myself relax a little more into his body. “I know, but anything else happening would be a complication.”
Both of us knew that. We’d only known each other for like a week, and he’d been kind of an ass. It wasn’t like this man would be relationship material. Right?
“I can do complicated. Don’t you worry. Go to sleep. It’ll be alright.” Smoothing his hands over my spine, he worked in keeping up a slow and steady rhythm until my eyes drooped, my face nestled against the curve of his shoulder.

It was probably Wade.
Wade
It wasn’t me.
Lo Lo
Mom said someone saw Kipp looking “happy.”
What does that even mean? I’m always happy.
Sage
That is horrifying for a cop.
WTF. Anyway - I’m a game warden. Wade’s the cop.
Wade
I’m happy.
