“Shoot her, Twin!” Oscar cheered from beside me.

“Oscar!” Viper hissed at him. “Do not encourage her.” He stepped up to Cara and patted her shoulder. “Let her make it, Hellcat. I think she’s got the picture now.”

Tabitha’s head bobbed up and down. “I do. I swear you will never see me again.”

Cara clenched her jaw. “Listen to me carefully. If I ever find out you’re fucking with Will in any way, Iwillkill you. Hell, if I ever see you, you'd better run the other fucking way because I will kill you. Do you understand?”

“Y-yes,” she replied as her lips wobbled.

“Get the fuck out of here,” Cara ordered.

Tabitha spun around and walked fast toward the door. I guess it wasn’t fast enough for Cara. She fired two shots near Tabitha’s feet, making her cry out before running as fast as she could.

Right as the door slammed, everyone burst into laughter. “Cara, did you really tell that girl her pussy was musty?” Thor chortled, holding his stomach.

“It is!” she insisted. “Got my skin crawling and shit. I need to go take a shower.” Cara shivered, making her way up the steps with Viper behind her.

After all the commotion died down, I spun Tech around and threw my arms around his shoulders. “Now, what were you saying about getting home?”

He smiled deviously. “I can show you better than I can tell you.”

Chapter Twenty-Eight

TECH

Iwas filled with so much anxiety. After debating what to do since the moment I found out that Cody, I mean, Tristan, was alive, I finally made a decision. For weeks, I didn’t know how to approach the situation. I wanted to see him in person, but I wasn’t sure how he would respond.

For all I knew, he probably didn’t want anything to do with anyone or anything that was tied to the cult.

Me included.

But after talking things over with Will and my therapist, I came to the conclusion that I needed to do this for me. If Tristian saw me and turned me away, at least I could say that I tried. I could move on and respect his wishes.

Will had been super supportive. Both he and Oscar flew to California with me. Oscar would be keeping Miracle while Will and I went to talk to Tristian. Oscar had a lot of free time on his hands since Sire burned down the shop. To make matters worse, his boss told him that once her establishment was rebuilt, he would no longer have a job there. She blamed him for everything.

I told Oscar that I would talk to her for him, but he declined. Losing his job had finally pushed him to open his own shop. Hehad been wanting to for years, but after nearly losing his life, he said he wasn’t holding back anymore.

“Are you ready for this?” Will asked as we pulled up to the shop that Tristan owned with his husband.

Grabbing his hand, I interlocked our fingers. “As ready as I can be. It's still kind of hard to believe he’s alive. For over fifteen years, I thought he was dead.”

Will nodded and gently massaged my neck, offering reassurance. “I get it. But there’s no need to be nervous. Something tells me Tristan will be just as happy to see you.”

My brows dipped. “How can you be so sure?”

Will grinned and squeezed my hand. “The way you look when you talk about him lets me know you two were extremely close. That type of bond can’t be broken.”

“You know it isn’t like that for me anymore, right? I don’t want him in any way?—”

“Jacob, calm down. I know where I stand with you. But today is about you. Okay?”

I smiled, leaning over the console to peck his lips. “I just want to make sure you’re good.”

He palmed my cheek, kissing me once more. “I’m perfect. Now, let’s get in there.”

I took a deep breath before stepping out of the truck. Will made his way around the front, sticking his hand out for me. Hand in hand, we made our way across the street and into the clothing store.

After doing a little more research, I found out that this location was the one Tristan and his husband occupied most often. As I approached the counter, I could feel my palms sweating.
